BD 101 Questions
OK, here are some BD 101 questions...
1. Lets pretend we conceived this month...do I count 40 weeks from date of conception to get an estimated due date...really just curious if a baby that is conceived in Feb would be due in November or December.
2. After BD, I feel like Phoebe on "Friends" and want to lie upside down to help those suckers swim. Ridiculous, but...is it smart to not pee afterwards or is there a certain position that lends itself more to BFP?
No laughing, please.

Re: BD 101 Questions
I used to work at a gyno's office in NY and I *think* and might be completely wrong that you count from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). I think I remember that is how we calculated it at work for the pregnant women.
AND!!! YES!! I am addicted to FRIENDS and watch the DVD set constantly. That episode was one of them and I was laughing inside thinking "Maybe I should try that!!!!"
P.S...I do the hip thing where the doctor told me to raise my hips after BD'ing. Yep!! That's me!

Re: BD 101 Questions
1) You count 40 weeks from your Last Menstrual Period (LMP). You could also go to Babycenter or any "baby" website & it will calculate it for you. Depending on your cycle, if it was early Feb, it would be a Mid November delivery date.
2) I try to lay with my hip elevated right after BD'ing. I always try to NOT pee after but I have heard it is not harmful since a lot of girls suffer from UTI & need to use the bathroom after BDing. For me, every little bit helps. I try to lay down for at least 30 minutes or so after BD to make sure they get a good head start

Re: BD 101 Questions
1) You count 40 weeks from your last period. Basically, you count 9 months ahead from your last period & then add 7 days. So if your LMP was 2/20, your due date is 2+9=11 (November) & 20+7=27, so you'd be due November 27.
2) I love that episode I usually lay with my hips elevated for a few minutes & then I just go to sleep. So I never really get up after having sex until the morning. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I figure it can't hurt!

Re: BD 101 Questions
Thanks ladies...
DH and were lying in bed past couple of times and were like, "now what?". I guess $ex is at a different level now...its BD!
Good to know I'm not the only one out there wondering these things.

Re: BD 101 Questions
I don't think that lying around after sex will help the sperm travel. I read somewhere that those suckers shoot up at lightning speed, and by the time you are totally done with your "session", the sperm will have already reached their destination, so no need to lie around after.
I have been staying put for longer than I normally would, but certainly not for any excessive amount of time-- but then I go to pee and clean off. Who needs an infection when trying to make a baby!
