Does the TTC board add extra stress?
DH says all the time that being on this board and reading about babies and symptoms is putting too much stress on myself. I like to consider myself well informed and this board offers wonderful support during this tough process...but, sometimes I think that maybe I should step back and try and focus on anything but TTC? What do you guys think? Do you think all the reading about it makes you stress more or keeps you TOO focused on TTC?

Re: Does the TTC board add extra stress?
I have learned in my last couple of months that I try to not frequent the TTC board in my 2WW. Even though everyone is informative, I try to keep my mind off of it bc I don't want to stress myself out. Also, I try to not read the "symptoms" threads just bc I don't want to over-analyze.
I do think it has helped me to get through the last 2. At one point, I didn't even realize where I was in my cycle. DH & I have been taking a more "laid-back" approach to TTC this month, so I am trying my best to just do other things & not let TTC consume my life.

Re: Does the TTC board add extra stress?
Absolutely. You tend to over-obsess and over-analyze which just causes this process to consume more of you than it should.
This board is very informative, educational and can lend support to those who need it-- but, it can also really play up to the insecurities and worries we all have when TTC.

Actually, I feel the opposite. Chances are if you are here for any extended length of time there are other issues beyond the control of "not stressing out." So I think this board has been invaluable for some...I know it was for me when first TTC.

Re: Does the TTC board add extra stress?
I do feel STRESS reading everyones symptoms early on after Oing. I wonder why didn't my boobs hurt or if I am not spotting maybe I am not preggo. Or I don't feel sick, dizzy, very tired etc..
All I have is 8 straight days of on and off headaches. Cramping very little I've tested BFN and I am two days late plus my CD are anywhere from 26-32 days
Lately I am just giving up hope that this is not my month and TBAF will show soon. I keep telling myself its not over but who am I kidding really.

I am very thankful for this board. I feel less crazy & alone when I sign on & see so many other people dealing with the same emotions. Everyone on this board is very supportive of each other & I think that really helps sometimes.

I do agree with you danielle, I am feeling this way now because I just starting TTC and I need to be more patient if its my month. I do get alittle envious of others symptoms when I am not experiencing that. I know I shouldn't but I am admitting it rather then ignoring it.
This board this very helpful, I love hearing about other ladies who are preggo and do feel sad for those who are still trying. I am still learning the lingo because I just started coming on here more when DH and I started TTC. HTMS

I think so; which is why I "take time off" from posting on this board. I find sometimes it consumes me to some extent and I don't think that's healthy.

Re: Does the TTC board add extra stress?
I think it's a double edged sword. This site has been a blessing and a curse for me. I have learned so much from the ladies on here and knowledge is power. On the other hand, I have taken prolonged breaks from the boards when I noticed that reading posts has fueled my anxiety and desperation to become pg.

I agree with pp. I think it's a double edged sword as well. I stress about certain things some times...and other times I'm completely calm!

Re: Does the TTC board add extra stress?
It truly is a journey and am thankful for this board and all the support that is out there. It's made going through this process a lot easier knowing you are not a lone. I do agree about the double edged sword comments, especially during the 2ww!!! Last month I found my self over analyzing everything. I am trying to take a more laid back approach as well even though it can be hard at times when everyone around you is getting BFPs. I know when the time is right it will happen for us and am just happy to lend support and learn from everyone else in this process.

Re: Does the TTC board add extra stress?
I am eternally grateful for the support I have received here over the past year. I have developed some relationships with people that I have found invaluable.
The TTC and IF boards caused me stress no question. Much of it was self-imposed. This was a big reason why I stopped posting about my issues/processes. I started doubting myself based on what others wrote and that proved to be a BIG mistake for me.
What is really important to keep in mind during TTC is that no two people are alike. To compare myself to virtual strangers on ANY website or to rely on information posted on medical websites such as WebMD was not for me. I did this early on and came close to losing it a number of times - it had to stop as I became a different person. I learned to rely on my own judgements which included trusting my care takers and if I didn't, I would switch doctors.

Re: Does the TTC board add extra stress?
I love this board but I try not to spend a lot of time on it. It's almost like I don't want to consider myself "trying", I just want to be pregnant already, if that makes sense.

Re: Does the TTC board add extra stress?
Thanks for all of the honest answers ladies. You are all wonderful and have been helpful in so many ways. I've been on here a long time now and it does get hard watching people come and go so quickly. This past month I read WAY too much into symptoms and drove me and DH insane. TTC and the IF board helped me realize that there was an issue and we took care of that at the 6 month mark...now I just need to be confident that it will happen. I think this month I'm going to try and stay away during the 2ww. I definitely feel like I need to relax a bit...and I always feel calm and confident about things before I O, it's after I O that I get crazy. I'll be around but probably just not as much. and for everyone!!!

Well said. Similar to my LIW obession, I can see this is starting to rule my mind. While it is fun, comforting, etc to share this exciting time with other people, the 2ww thing is torture.
My DH (once again) hates you all. J/K.

Re: Does the TTC board add extra stress?
For me, it kinda calms me down a bit because it makes me feel normal and like I'm not alone which is really big for me. I don't want to ever feel like I've hit a wall with no options! This board helps to alleviate that for me.

I think I am in the middle of the road on this. I try not to come on here that much because I do not want to start over analyzing every symptom I have. But I like the support, I just try to stay away from it during the 2WW.
