Speaking of anxiety and panic attacks....

who do you see to deal with these? A psychiatrist? Some other type of therapist? I would like to find out why this is happening, and at the same time I am not against going on some type of maintainance meds for this. It is a hard way to live.

a psychiatrist will prescribe meds for the symptoms, a therapist will help you get to the bottom of why its happening and learn how to cope with or without medication.

Good luck!

I saw both a therapist and a psychiatrist(for meds). Happy to say that I have not had an attack in over a year. And I am med free.

Re: Speaking of anxiety and panic attacks....

There are a few ways to deal with this

A psychiatrist who also does therapy - one shot deal

A psychologist/CSW or other therapist and then go to PCP for meds

a therapist and go to psychiatrist for meds only.

I saw a therapist who referred me to a psychiatrist. I got depression/anxiety meds from him.
