Steak dilemma

We went to Sagamore Friday night. We were really disappointed.

We ordered a boneless rib steak which turned out to be a Prime Rib. I don't like Prime Rib to begin with. The steak came out cold and undercooked. I asked that it go back and it came back on the same bloody plate along with my half eaten mashed potatoes. I only took two bites of the steak.

I love Rib and Rib eyes and this was not one of them.

we ended up wrapping the steaks up and taking them home. I think I'll slice them up and put them on garlic bread and mozz.

This was really disappointing. We didn't say anything else to the restaurant although we should have for $42 a steak.

I want to call them and tell them..what would you do?

Re: Steak dilemma

if you call them and tell them now, i don't know what they will be able to do except take down your info and send you a GC or a coupon or something - although to be honest the one time i was there i was very disappointed in the service (although the food was great) so i wouldn't count on anything.

i have a big mouth and if my steak isn't done right i always make them take it back - even if they have to redo it two or three times until i am satisfied. at a place like that, i am not wasting my $$ on an "ok" steak.

sorry you had a bad experience there Chat Icon

Re: Steak dilemma

I don't really think it pays much to call and tell them now, I think it would have been more beneficial to have told them at the time. Also, your waiter should have seen how little you ate and asked if everything was okay.

I guess you can just call and tell them that you were disappointed with your meal and the service when you sent it back. Hopefully it will help them change their ways for the future.

Re: Steak dilemma

You could send a letter. That way, you're not putting the person who answers the phone on the spot.

Re: Steak dilemma

If I called, I would speak to a manager, but maybe a letter wouldn't be bad.

We just wanted to get out of there..didn't care much for the whole experience.
