If you are looking for an awesome restaraunt, then you want to go to Green Leaf cafe - there is one in commack and one in Massapequa, I think - the food is orgasmic!!!!

Love Chicken Pad Thai. Also love sticky rice with Mango. And Chicken Satay. And Chicken with Fresh Noodles and Lime Leaf.

Phayathai restaurant in Ronkonkoma is amazing, we absolutely love it (and it's cheap too).
I love pad thai and tofu and vegetables with yellow curry. Summer rolls are also really good for an appetizer.

It's stir-fried fat soft rice noodles (like chow fun in Chinese restaurants) with chinese broccolli. You usually have a choice of protein & I usually get chicken. Its' not too spicy.
I am not crazy about satay (chicken on a stick appetizer- texture always seems weird to me) or pad thai (too dry).

Pad see Ew - I like it with the beef. The Thai Restaurant in Massapequa is AMAZING, I like it better than the others I have tried on LI.

I have tried several thai places and really only like Lemonleaf Grill. There is one in Hicksville and one in Carle Place.
Love:
Pahd Thai (chicken or shrimp)
Khao Pahd Supparot (Pineapple Coconut Fried Rice)
Gai Pahd Bai Ga-prow (Spicy Basil chicken)
Gai Pahd Prik Haeng (Cashew Chicken)
Crispy Chicken or Beef with Sesame Seeds
Mango Chicken
Oh...and Chicken Satay for appetizer...YUUMMMMM

there is a place call 'thai food' on hempstead turnpike in franklin square that is good.
there is also a GREAT place on bell blvd called ERAWAN, that is our favorite. service is not the best, but the food makes up for it.
the chicken pad thai is delicious and the pineapple chicken is amazing - it is served in a whole pineapple!

I love Pad Se Eew. I usually get it with beef. As far as restaurants on LI to recommend, I have no idea. I have two places that I like in Queens.

Best Thai foor by FAR is "Sea" in downtown brooklyn....the atmosphere and food are AMAZING! I live in LI but go out of my way to go there

I just wanted to add - when DH and I went to Thailand, we thought we would be sooooo set with food - turns out, of course, that Thai people eat none of the above.
They eat pork and rice, fish, etc....
The only place we were able to find Pad Thai was in a resort for tourists....

Same is true with Chinese food -- and Italian food -- and many other "ethnic" categories of food we eat here.
I've been to China twice and the only thing they have there that is even close to what we serve as Chinese food here is sweet and sour pork -- but they don't eat a lot of pork there.
I find authentic Italian food to be very different from what we serve here in the states, though admittedly closer than Chinese food.

ETA: Their are 2 restaurants in NYC called LAND-one one the UES and one on the UWS
