Orange cake recipe
I am making DH's birthday cake and I got Duncan Hines vanilla cake mix and 2 boxes of orange jello. How do I mix this all together? Can I just get the jello together like it calls for and then pour it into the cake mix? Or should I do something all together different?

Re: Orange cake recipe
is it instant jello? I put instant pudding into my cake mixes all the time and they work great. Don't know about regular jello though...

Re: Orange cake recipe
I have read 2 different ways...
1. add the powdered Jello to the cake mix with the wet ingredient, mix and pour in to pan
2. Bake the cake according to the directions on the box... Let cool... Take a wooden spoon and poke rows of holes in the cake... Mix a box of jello according to the box... Pour over the cooled cake... Chill until the jello has set... Frost with cool whip...

You know, I was just thinking about pouring the jello over the cake mix. I have done this before with another cake I would make. Thanks!
