I have Empire Govt but from what I'm hearing this isn't going to be covered by insurance, any ideas of the cost?

Re: Cost of PGD
no, it is NOT covered my insurance. A co-worker of mine went through it, and we have Empire. She had to pay out of pocket $5,000.
After hearing her story totally worth it. She had 10 eggs fertilize and 7 of them came bacl positive for Down Syndrome, only 3 were good. She is older too, so I think it is totally worth it.

I paid $2000 at SHER inst. And it is worth it out of 10 eggs I had 1 that was normal. I was 41 at the time. That one never implanted though bc I didn't know about the issues I had at the tme. I suggest you do all your testing first before you spend the $$$. i have blood clotting issues and natural killer cells in my uterus. So I attacked the egg as an enemy. I hope this helps

Re: Cost of PGD
It depends on what you're doing it for.
I had to have probes created for a balanced translocation. I also wanted to do the 5-aneupoloidy panel. Mine cost around $7500. I have Empire and they did not pay and I tried to submit it and they denied me over and over again.

Re: Cost of PGD
I don't have any experience with this, but again the insurance companies infuriate me. Wouldn't it be better if you only put back ONE egg, hence they wouldn't have to pay for the healthcare of multiples. And on that note, one healthy baby, rather than a baby with a genetic disorder that the insurance company will pay for? Really, it is so ridiculous how insurance companies are totally blind to IF issues.
