Nuclear Scans?
Has anyone ever had a nuclear scan? If so, could you tell me what this was like? Did you have any bad side effects?
I may need one in the near future, though I'm not sure yet. I also need to find out if it's possible that any harm could come to DS.
TIA.

I have one every 6 months on my kidney. In fact, I'm headed to the doctor today to get the process started again.
For mine, it's a long test, about 2 hours, because they have to run the radioactive dye through, then run lasix through to get my kidneys to function and watch them drain to my bladder. I just have to lay on the table for that time. I actually dose off
I have absolutely no side effects from it. The docs and technicians warn me that I am radioactive for 24 hours. For adults, its not a problems, and I was told to treat my kids as if I had a cold (no kissing, etc.).
Good Luck, what are they going to do it for??

Re: Nuclear Scans?
My thyroid. I have some nodules there, and the ultrasound didn't show if they were solid or cystic. I may ask if I can do something else first though--my son is 4 months old, and there is no way I cannot hold him or take care of him, plus he's so little, I worry about him.
