Have you discussed with your doctor doing something other than the cryosurgery? When was the last cryosurgery?

my sis had it...her doc gave her the vaccine which they told her would help clear it up, which it did.

I had an abnormal pap 7 years ago, had cryosurgery, about 1 year later another abnormal pap, got a 2nd opinion who thought that doing the LEEP was the best way to proceed, and I haven't had an abnormal pap since. Do you know what strain you have?
It may be time to try a different approach. Good luck to you!

I have the cancer strain also. I had the LEEP done as ambulatory surgery so it was nothing! I know you can opt to have it done in the office but since it was offered as ambulatory I jumped at that (I'm a big baby!). Recovery was 1 day but I think you can't use tampons or have intercourse for some time (I have no idea if it was a week or 2 weeks-something around there).

my friends doc said the you cannot get the vaccine once you are exposed to HPV. now i'm comfused

I was told the cryosurgery didn't offer any guarantee as far as recurrence...my Dr. and an oncologist both highly recommended a conal biopsy to remove the entire section of HPV cells (mine was the precancerous type). That was six years ago and I haven't had a bad pap since.

I was diagnosed with HPV but had a normal pap. The doc who diagnosed me wanted me to get a leep. I got two new opinions and both agreed to wait it out. I've been hpv free for over a year now. Have you thought of getting a second opinion?
