I'm confused - need redstar help
If you ovulate every month, and BD within that time - how do you NOT get PG? Isn't there sperm swimming "up there" with every "shot"? Where does the sperm go if it doesn't find the egg? or maybe there isn't always an egg waiting there? I'm confused. please help.

There are LOTS of reasons why. There are things called unexplained infertility, sometimes the male sperm is not strong enough...so many possibilities. How long have you been charting and trying? I think that's something only a doctor can telly you. Have you had prenatal blood work? I hope you get your BFP soon! Are you charting? You may have your Ovulation date wrong. It could be something as simple as that. I ovulated on CD22 when I got pregnant, not 14.

If there was an answer to that question, we all would be pregnant.
You are on to something though :) There isn't always an egg, not all sperm make it to the tubes, the sperm that does may not be shaped correctly, the egg may have a hard shell to penetrate. The immune system may prevent implantation. The list goes on and on....
Fertilization is half the battle, implantation is the key...and that's why so many people suffer from either failed IVF or miscarriages.

Can your CM be an issue as well? Can that prevent you from getting PG?

Most definitely, some people have hostile CM and it can kill the sperm immediately.

Oh boy! i had no idea about all this.
we only started TTC this month - I didn't temp or chart or anything. Just BD when I had 2 lines on the OPK kit.
We promised ourselves we would not get crazy over it - just give it a shot...literally :)
