back to back IUI....
I have read about a lot of girls having back to back IUI. Is this normal? can i ask RE if we can do this? Im just curious if it will maximize our chances.

Re: back to back IUI....
My RE does not typically do this - they said it only raises your chances by about 8%. But I had them do it anyway.
Good Luck!

Re: back to back IUI....
When I had my first IUI last summer....I had back to back TO BACK IUI's. :)
I had the trigger shot on a Tuesday and had IUI's Wednesday, Thursday, AND Friday. And it worked! I got pregnant even though our post wash counts weren't very high. Unfortunately we lost our little girl, but the schedule definitely worked for us and I will ask to do three next time too if possible.
to you :)

Re: back to back IUI....
My RE doesnt do them (claims that it doesnt increase the chances)- I never understood why though, it seems as though it would (putting more swimmers to the egg)...I've asked to have it done and everytime they have talked me out of it...I'm sure if you request it- they will accomodate you ...Good Luck !

Re: back to back IUI....
My RE gives me the choice and I usually do back to back because my insurance covers it fully.

Re: back to back IUI....
I had it done. The only reason they did it was b/c I gave myself the trigger shot on a Thurs. night. After the did the IUI Fri. morning they did a sono. and I didn't release the eggs yet. They said after the sample is washed it doesn't last as long. It only lasts in the uterus approx. 6-12 hours. They did the 2nd IUI on Sat. morning and then another sono. and at that point they saw my eggs were about to drop at any second. It didn't work for me though but I think it was worth a shot. Good Luck!!

Re: back to back IUI....
I had it last month and I'm not sure what this month will be. I'm surging now and I'm here for blood and sono and I know I'm coming back tomorrow for the insemination but I'm not sure if I coming back Wed too yet.

Re: back to back IUI....
I've had them done up to 3x in a row. My RE has me come in either the day after my surge or the trigger shot and then I get IUIs until she sees that the follicles have released.

Re: back to back IUI....
I have had back to back unmedicated IUIs 4 out of 5 cycles - 3 of which I got PG. They ranged from 2 to 3 to 4 back to backs. My follies were rather stuborn. Some may say this is excessive, but it worked for me and I ain't fighting it. This last cycle, I had one IUI, skipped a day and then had 3 back to backs resulting in my current pregnancy. Strangely enough, DH's post wash count went UP significantly with each collection.
Keep in mind that a washed sample does not live as long as an unwashed sample. At least that is what I was told so in my case, it seems as if timing and not count was of the essence.

This happened for us last cycle too, we thought day 2 would be lower and it actually went up!
