Heart Palpitations

So for the second time in a few weeks at the gym I had some sort of heart palpitation attack. Both happened when I wasn't really fully into my workout so I wasn't really out of breath or struggling, but this second one scared me because I just had one two weeks ago. I feel like I may have had a few more over the past year or two but they were pretty quick.
This last one lasted about 2 minutes. Any suggestions? DH thinks I need to see a cardiologist.. Should I be worried?
TIA!

Re: Heart Palpitations

I've never heard heart palpitations at all but I would think its one of those things that will continue to stress you out till a dr. says "totally fine." While I'm sure its nothing to worry about (if you are overall pretty healthy) but why not get some peace of mind and schedule an appt with your GP and then let them suggest a cardiogolist if they feel its necessary.

Good luck!

Re: Heart Palpitations

For me, hormones were always the culprit. I would get them certain times of the month.

I did see a cardiologist, wore a Holter Moniter for 24 hrs and it was nothing major, just a mild palpitation. Dr said many people have them and they are usually hormonal, or stress related.

If you are that concerned, see a cardiologist to be sure. Mine come and go.

Yes. Go to the dr.

Do you recall if you get them when you eat certain foods?

Yes please see a doctor, it could be nothing ,but you never know, I went to the doc with the same problem and they discovered I have a problem , it's nothing serious but needs attention and need to see a cardiologist 2x a year to make sure it doesn't get worse.
