St. Maarten
For anyone who has been to St. Maarten; I have read the the airplanes fly very low over the beach. This is not very peaceful to me. Can anyone describe what its like?

I was just coming on to post about St. Maarten/ St Martin.
Are they the same place?
I found a great vacation deal in Ocotber, and id love to go, but dont know anything about it- any input is appreciated :)

they are the same place..one side of the island is dutch, the other french.
what kind of deal did u find?

It is only one beach that the planes fly over....nothing to worry about (unless you are staying at the resort next to it-which I would not)...
It is called Maho beach and the only reason you go there is to see the planes flying in...it is cool to see..the beach is right next to a road and then a fence to the airport....there is a cool bar next to the beach where you sit, enjoy a drink and look at the planes...

1800 for flights & hotel for 2 adutls and 2 kids. Its thousands cheaper than beaches in turks & disney.
Im going to book divi little beach resort for the week of thanksgiving.

I just got back from Divi Little Bay last night, it was a great trip. It's about 7 miles from the airport and the beach with the planes is Maho Beach. The island is beautiful and we had great weather. We went to Orient Beach on the French side and we also went to Anguilla for the day. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
