Restaurant Rec's Near "Wicked" (51st St)...
Looking for something that isn't too much of a tourist trap (like finding a needle in a haystack, right? ).
Pref. Italian or American for my Mom.

Bobby Vans on 50th between 6th and 7th is fabulous! a little pricey but a GREAT steak place!!

Don Giovanni's on 44th between 8th and 9th. My wife and I go there almost everytime we go to the theatre. REAL NYC place that tourists have no clue about. Plus, great prices and amazing Italian food.
A lot of the actors and crew eat and hang there. I recommend the manicotti.
It has a real nyc feel...not a fancy place but a true city place!
