I thought it was great. One thing I thought was really interesting is that Carrie was reading the poetry/love letters to Big. Remember how corny she thought that was when Petrovsky did that to her? I guess the point was that she really loves Big and he inspires those feelings in her, so it was no longer had the "ick factor"?

I had some really powerful feelings watching that movie and I realized that the when the show ended I was still single and now I am married with a toddler. There were so many paraells to my own life in that movie- that scene when Carrie and Miranda had the fight made me sob since my BF and I had a similar type of fight over something and my BF walked out saying the exact line that SJP said. It made me sob remembering it from so many years ago.
Overall, I didn't expect to feel so many emotions watching it. I thought there were so many cheesy parts and yet, there were so many angles that mirror my own life- having survived the heartbreak that Carrie endured over Big, the problems that Miranda and Steve face in their marriage, similar fights with girlfriends, I felt very spied on actually. I also got VERY homesick watching my former hometown when I realized I probably will never be returning on a regular basis once my parents make the move to Los Angeles this summer. It didn't help that they had a character living here too!
I felt so sad at that movie and felt such loss. I loved and hated it all the same. I really didn't expect to FEEL so much watching it and was so surprized. I thought it was very touching, poignant and hit home to me.

loved it, and I'm not a SATC addict. it was a little too cheesy at some points, and the Westwood wedding dress she drooled over and wore was my least favorite from the shoot, but I digress...I loved the movie. Had a great time with my girlfriend. GIRLPOWER!!

Although I LOVED it..I came away kind of sad and I am not too sure why??
I think its because first off I was so excited for this movie for so long, and now I have seen it and the excitement is over. Secondly, satc at home was a much difference experience. Those shows brought me into a different world when I needed to escape, they made me cry, laugh and just get through some rough times in my life. I feel like I grew with those girls. And seeing it on the big screen, I just feel like it kinda took something away from me..its a very weird feeling to explain.
That said though...that movie could have gone on all night long and I would have been happy! It was funny and sad and I was just so happy to finally be seeing it, especially before I was tempted to open any spoilers here!!
My heart broke when Carrie dropped that phone and ran out. When Charlotte protected her and cried NO NO...OMG..if I were home, I would have been hysterical. And when she waddled back to the car, I was hysterically laughing instead!
When Samantha was feeding Carrie..my heart was breaking. When she winked at her..AWWWWWWWW!
When Carrie took those sunglasses off..I felt pain from MY past breakups. It was unreal!!!
Loved the fact that she wound up with Big the way they should have wound up. Miranda annoyed me a little throughout the movie though...not sure why. Samantha is still the absolute funniest. I was sad she broke up with Smith but happy she didnt cheat on him.
I did not like how Charlotte just blurted to Carrie that she was pregnant. I agree with a previous poster in saying she should have told all of them at the diner table.
I even LOVED how they got Stanford and Anthony together when they so hated each other.
And when the music came up in the beginning, everyone clapped in my theater as well...it made me cry!!!!
I wanna go see it again..I am gonna get a good bootleg for now and get it on dvd as soon as it comes out! I love my girls!!!!!!!!!!!

I loved it and and for me even 2 1/2 hours was enough. True there were some scenes that were over the top but what a way to show us what happened to these 4 girls. They all looked amazing, the clothes everything. My heart broke for Carrie and of course I loved seeing the commitment of the 4 girls to each other. I could not say enough about this movie.it was FABULOUS!!!!

I'm probably in the minority here, but I feel like BIG having cold feet was blown out of proportion, especially since it felt like it was literally 3-5 mins after he told Carrie he couldn't do it, that he WAS ready, and was sorry. I knew she would forgive him at some point, she shouldn't have let him slip away after a quick rash decision on his part.
Also, Jennifer Hudson's character was forced to me. Then again, had she used one of the other characters of the show (Stanford or Anthony), it wouldn't have captured Louise's young search for love.
Other than that, I loved the movie, because everyone stayed true to character.

I went in with expectations of being disappointed but I loved it! I thought it was so well done! I also loved seeing it in a packed theater b/c everyone laughed and gasped at the same parts. We talked about the Steve and Miranda thing all night what would you do etc etc. I couldn't believe Big left Carrie at the altar and I felt it when she beat him with the flowers and I was never really sympathetic to her character or Samantha and I felt sad when she broke up with Smith. I def. feel they did a great job with the movie!!

i liked it! and i think at the end, the message was the glitz, glamour and labels didn't mean anything hence why carrie and big got married with her in the little suit---and having their reception at a diner!
Totally agree! I thought the end message was great and it was very true to the show as well. Loved it!

LOVED it! great movie! I liked that they recapped in case someone didn't watch the show (like my mom who came w/ me). i felt so many emotions watching it, and i  the eye candy via clothes and men!

I saw it this evening with three other girlfriends and I LOVED it - laughed and cried throughout! Yes, the ending was a little unrealistic how quickly she just took him back, and as some other posters said, I'm still mad and hurt at him too - but I loved it - didn't realize how much I missed those ladies and the show until I saw the movie!!!
ETA - and ummm - I was LOVING Dante

i absolutely loved it!
i left feeling all kinds of emotions..as much as i wouls have loved carrie to have gone into the sunset with another man, big was the guy for her and i definitely had that feeling i had in college after i kept going back to the same guy that kept hurting me, but the rush of being with him was so powerful in the moment, i just totally fell into her character. when she was laying with him on the floor in her closet, i just got goosebumps of happiness for her...
eta my hubby is away and i decided to go to happy hour with 2 of my old coworkers (guys) - after 2 drinks i coaxed them into going with me, lol!
(they are like my brothers)

I really liked the movie overall but I have a lot to criticize!
I didn't like the ending...I just could not get over what Big did to Carrie to that quickly... it was too much. And at the end of whole thing - Big got exactly what HE wanted - his whole ham and eggs breakfast-JOP wedding. But I guess at least it was true to the show - she was always a sucker for him.
Jennifer Hudson's role and character was utterly useless - I wish they had left her completely out of the movie.
But despite all that I still really liked it... it was very true to the show. The women all looked fantastic.
ETA: Carrie's wedding gown - OMG!!! I loooooved it!!! 
I completely agree! I didn't think she should have forgiven him. He got everything he wanted and she was humiliated. If he didn't want the big wedding, he should have spoken up.
Jennifer Hudson was HORRIBLE.

I loved it too - but I agree. He was really just looking to walk in WITH her and came to his senses a few minutes later! I almost was surprised that she, knowing he was feeling a little nervous, wouldn't had suggested going in together or being together that day.
I almost felt the whole "girls sleep over" was forced -- would Carrie really do that or would she had been more modern and been with him the night before? IDK.
And one more point -- I liked their casual dinner that they ended up having but I felt like it mirrored Miranda's wedding a few years ago. I mean, the diner was less fancy than what Miranda had but the same "idea" was there....

ITA! He tried to tell her that he didn't want a huge wedding, but she did and she ALMOST got what she wanted. I think they both could have been more flexible.

I loved when Miranda and Steve met on the Brooklyn Bridge. I got teary eyed for that one. 
I wasn't feeling Jennifer Hudson's character. I think they should have used a different actress for that role...

I loved when Carrie figured out how to unblock the email filter and saw all the Love Letters.
My absolute favorite part was Samantha's toast at the rehearsal dinner. "Shut up d!ckw@d, I'm talking!"
