Lamb?

DH wants lamb, but I have no idea how to cook it or what is good, b/c I have never eaten lamb and never will.

I want to cook it on the bbq, any suggestions?

TIA!

Re: Lamb?

Okay - get lamb chops (I like the french cut) and marinate them with A LOT of chopped garlic, some fresh rosemary, fresh squeezed lemon, olive oil and some salt and pepper. Let them marinate for at LEAST an hour (I do it overnight). Then throw them on the BBQ until they are the doneness that you like (I like mine fairly rare).

They are FANTASTIC. I have converted lamb haters with this recipe!Chat Icon

Thanks I love your recipes since you gave me the ginger soy one. I get so many compliments on it.

I did a marinade like above last night for some quail, it was delicious.

What do you mean French cut? Sometimes the meat is a different name for different cuts here.

Re: Lamb?

ground lamb is also worth checking out - Its way easier to cook then chops or a leg of lamb and pretty delicious. I normally mix in fresh basil, cilantro, garlic, salt, pepper and some feta and then just make patties.

What seasonings did you use? What goes good with lamb? This is for one person, so a whole leg is out of the question, just a chop or something to throw on the BBQ.

By french cut I mean the little chops on the bone where the meat is stripped away at the top - as opposed to the big fat chops that look like pork chops!Chat Icon

I got two little chops and two rib pieces (forgot what they were called here). Tried your marinade and DH loved it! Thanks again!

ETA- Australia has one of the best lamb industries in the world, so that might have helped Chat Icon . You leave the city and there are flocks of sheep all over.
