Can you freeze steak?
Steak is on sale here at a really good price and I wanted to buy some and stock up. I have just recently started to eat red meat again (after 20 years of no red meat) and I am wondering is it ok to freeze it, or will the flavour be affected?

perfectly fine to freeze. I buy tons in bulk and freeze. Some I separate into smaller portions and then use my Reynold's Handi-Vac sealer to prevent freezer burn.

Yes, but it does get freezer burned after a while, even with the best wrapping so dont buy like a years worth or something. Just buy enough you can eat it in the next 3-4 months.

I freeze steak all the time. I use the vacuum sealer. We keep it for at least 6 months or so with no problems

I wrap each steak individually in the Saran wrap press n seal then put them in a freezer Ziploc bags. They stay very nice

Great, that is what I did. I plan on eating them within the next two weeks. There weren't many steaks left that were on special, so I got what I could.

You'll be fine. I always buy steak in large quantities at BJs or another store, and store it in my freezer and DH and I will thaw it in the AM to eat that evening. Flavor is still there.
