Dr. Scavo OBGYN
I am really mad. I just called to make an appt. with Dr. Scavo for my Check up and they said she is leaving the Univ. Plaza group. I think I got one of her last appts. at the end of June.
They also said she isn't delivering babies anymore at the new office she is going to. I love her and she delivered my DD.

A lot of Dr's are leaving there job cause they can't afford to pay the insurance anymore, is like 200,000 a year! One of my Dr's doesn't deliver anymore but they are keeping one Dr on and paying his insurance off every year, its crazy!!!

I'm sorry....I know how you feel. I love my ob/gyn & she is no longer delivering babies either due to the high cost of malpractice insurance, its a shame...

I had to switch OBs at 32 weeks b/c they lost their delivering doctors and the cost of malpractice insurance was ridiculous...

I love my ob also and she no longer is an ob because of insurance prices.... I was also upset when I found out.

Yes she was suppose to delivery me in August by the baby came a month early, She has been my since she started at that group. The only one i will see. you too? i'm not due to see her till august so i don't think i can go in in june.

My friend introduced me to her last year when I was PG with DD. I wasn't happy with my prior practice and the way they handled things so I switched to Scavos office when I was 13 weeks PG.
I was so happy with her as my dr. She even delivered my DD last April. The other drs. are good too,but she is my fav.! I will ask her where she is going though. I heard recently another female dr. came back (Dr.Poulukin?)- spelling?
I hear she is good too.

I heard she is leaving with another doctor and opening their own just GYN practice. I am not sure who the other doctor is, but I know it is not Dr Miller. If you are looking for another dr in that office, I highly reccomend him. I love him, he is a great dr, and has a great bed-side manner and really takes the time to listen and get you all the answers you need.

wow i used to see Dr. Putterman before i had DS. She was ok. I cant believe they are all leaving

Yes, scavo and putterman are opening there own practice and both will not be delivering anymore. Putterman just delivered my dd, I am upset too, but will stay with university plaza till I am done having babies. I still really like rosenberg and caffaro so will stick with them.

I am lurking but wanted to add some info...Dr. Scavo is my dr. too (and a good friend of my mothers!) and I am so upset that she is leaving. I feel like I lost my best friend. It is because of the malpractice insurance and the hours that would need to be spent in the office to be able to pay it. Her and Dr. Putterman are opening up their own practice, in Garden City also but as said above, they are not going to be delivering anymore. I feel like I lost my best friend. (although she did say that if I get a BFP between now and then she will see me until she leaves and I just went this morning for a Blood Test so I am keeping my hopes up!!) I had asked her for some female recomendations and she said that she couldn't recommend any females that she liked so I think I will end up staying in the office and seeing one of the male drs.

just to give a little hope to your girls. My OB stopped delivering as well and brought in an OB that would come by one day a week. Two months before my DD for my second he decided to come back!!! He missed it too much and said that he came to the realization that he would not be making money as an OB/GYN, so he bought a marina to make money and is a doctor for the love of it.
