for just a few dollars more, you can tay at pop century. IMO its so much better. its the same idea, but much cleaner and much more up to date.

Re: Disney all star resorts...

We stayed a Pop last year. You basically get what you pay for room wise. The grounds were a lot of fun to walk though. So many cool things!!!

Re: Disney all star resorts...

We just booked out family Disney trip for August 16th...It will be DS 1st time there and my first time back in about 13 years or so. We are all looking so froward to it, we decided on the Disney Dolphin being that it will be DH and I with DS, we needed a jr. suite at least so that we can have our privacy and he will have his own bed to sleep in.

It will also be DH and I's 1 year anniversary so needless to say I'd like a little romance as well. lolChat Icon

Finding a suite for August was nearly impossible so we went with the dolphin which looks stunning.

When are you guys going?

we stayed at movie a few years ago -the room was nice

my only problem with the all star resorts is that they all share a bus so the bus was so crowded =- the bus for cornando always looked nice and empty - if it is possible maybe better to go up one step

movie worked well becuase it was usually the first pickup stop and meant you got a seat

I'm going August 16th also. I'm a dvc member staying at the Boardwalk villas. We go to Disney every year. the pop is definately the best out of the value resorts. (never stayed there) but it is the newest of all of them. it was built 5-6 years ago.

Re: Disney all star resorts...

I stayed in all-star music in 1996... so it was quite awhile ago. but it was FINE! it very family oriented-- a LOT of kids and families. i was in college and we spent all our time at the parks and at downtown disney, so it didnt' matter to us.

I just saw your FM but I will answer you hereChat Icon I loved the Grosvenor. It was a great location for us and the shuttles were never crowded. It is a walk to Downtown Disney which is where we spent our nights.

This time we are going with 28 people and are staying at the All Star Movies. I am excited about it. We are doing this on a budget so All Star Movies fits that.

It was clean. Just motel-like (which it basically is). We were going on a budget and it was fine for the two nights we stayed. Definetly had a lot of kids/families. I have some pictures of the grounds but nothing of the rooms...Some of the travel websites allow you to look at travelers pictures though! (I want to say trip advisor)

We stayed at the All Star Movies - like pp said, it was like a motel but, it was clean.

For the price and the amount of time we actually spent in the room it was great.

Pop is the newest so it is probably the cleanest. I personally haven't stayed there but have had friends who have and they have had mostly positive experiences. AAA gives it 2 stars last I checked and 3 stars to the moderates just to give you an idea of how AAA rates them.

Honestly they are great for a family on a budget or for people who plan to spend little to no time in the room and are looking for a clean place to sleep. I don't think there is a huge difference between the values and the moderates. Mainly - the moderates are slightly larger and depending on your taste more adult decor, full service restaurant as well as a food court.

The only thing I see people complain about at the values is the noise. B.c of the price many groups (like cheerleading groups, high schools, little leagues etc) stay there and so I have seen complaints on other boards of loud kids running around at all hours without good supervision. I have also seen people comment on hearing thru the walls other people's toilets flushing and their showers.

The themes of the values seem to appeal to young kids, and I hear they have a good food court and pools. The busses are supposed to be very crowded though so you might want to consider renting a car.

Check out - these two sites for some reviews and pictures disboards
