I met a pregnant woman at the liquor store today!!
Oh, wow, when I say it outloud it sounds horrible.  Eh, we all have dinner parties to attend. At least, I hope the liquor wasn't for her. Hmmm.
Anyway, she saw me with the baby and started asking some questions about 'normal' things during pregnancy. I told her about this website. She seemed very interested. So, here is a public shout out to her!!! May she find her answers here!

If I was having a party and needed liquor and was preg. I would still go buy it...although I'm sure I would get some funny looks too!  Just wouldn't drink any of it.

i would never think twice of a pregnant woman in a liquor store.
i have bought beer and liquor for my husband as well as for parties MANY times during my pregnancy. if anyone dared question me in the store i would have gotten extremely upset and angry.
and you know what, alcohol is okay in SMALL moderation in the third trimester (according to my doctor). i have had about 3-4 glasses of wine and enjoyed every one. all of them were out at restaurants (1 per visit) and i would have loved if someone dared say something to me as i have some pretty good comebacks! (can you tell i don't mind confrontation!)
just because you're pregnant doesn't mean you can't buy certain things. now if that woman was drinking all of it, out in public, and downed an entire bottle...that's an issue.

 Hey...that was me in the liquor store....and yes I was buying a bottle of red wine for myself.
 I do have one glass of wine sometimes, the doctor said their is nothing wrong with that, just limit yourself to every once in awhile.
I was having a meltdown because
the doctor's office told me I had an elevated AFP level and it could mean spina bifida. Well, the doctor was supposed to call me back to explain what AFP was and he NEVER called.
I called the office the next day and they just said to come in the office next week, they don't know why he didn't call back. Can you imagine the nerve of these people ? Telling me over the phone that something may be wrong and then not having a doctor available to ask questions....
Very unprofessional.
So...of course I looked up elevated AFP
on the web only to find out that I could have pre-eclampsia and my baby could be born stillborn and my life could be at risk as well.
I also found out the sex of my baby that day...and it's a boy.
Ok, I was a bit devastated because
I really wanted a girl. I went through
2 invitro's and I have been through
years of being infertile. Thank God
the 2nd invitro worked. I am 41 and this will be my only pregnancy, so yeah...I was very upset that I will never have a girl.
So...now you can see why I was freaking out and wanted that glass of wine.

Yeah I've heard this.. Its not such a biggie if its a lil bit and not in the first trimester.
People talk though *shrug*

you have a lot going on in your life. i hope the wine made you feel a little better!
please feel free to join the boards--we all try to support each other through everything. there is NOTHING wrong with having a glass of wine at this point.

I agree. She said she is only having one baby and knows she will never have a little girl now - that would be upsetting to me too.
