Yankee fans
How do you feel about the new stadium?
I'm torn. I mean, some of the best ball players ever stood in that dugout. I guess I'm a little superstitious but that won't be the house that Ruth built anymore
I am excited about the better bathrooms and hoping for better food vendors.  BTW don't ever buy those little flags, bears, bats things from those people that walk around the stands and sell them. The lady that was selling them was dragging the flags on the bathroom floor...

I feel exactly the way you do. One thing that kills me is Thurman's locker....that's HIS locker and has never been altered. It won't be Thurman's locker to me at the new stadium (not that I've ever seen it but the sentimental value of it....).
The history...everything...the whole place is the cathedral of baseball.
Yet, I've been to so many new stadiums and I'm totally psyched to see what they come up with. When they first said they were going through with it I was VERY against it. But now that I've seen the plans...and I see it developing it every time I go to the stadium...man, it gives me chills when I drive up to it.
I'm guessing they'll finally serve beer in the bleachers!  That might be why they've been censoring the hell out of us. We can't even chant "Box seats s u ck" anymore. Trying to prep us for the new stadium. Well at least we'll be a part of the whole building and will get to go to monument park and other parts of the stadium.

I am really upset about it. Yes, some parts of the new stadium will be better but I prefer the old. Even though they re-did it in 76, my Dad can still point and say to me...that's where I sat for such and such game and that's where I sat and saw Mickey Mantle make an amazing catch. I won't be able to do that with my son. I won't be able to show him where I sat for the world series or where I used to sit when I was 8. It just makes me sad.
It also upsets me b/c the new stadium will be smaller. It's hard enough to get tickets now!!! They are only caterering to the businesses with all those luxary boxes. Not to the little people.

They started it last season. DH is speculating that Security is trying to groom the Bleacher Creatures for the new stadium....since the bleachers will be a part of the stadium and will probably serve beer. Or maybe some people complained (obviously not bleacher regulars)...we can't even do "Why are you gay?" for YMCA anymore! (section 41 still tries though!  )
I love Vinny's retort though after every roll call - "Thanks to the Yankee Stadium Security our First Amendment rights have been suspended. Sit down, the show's over!"

Oh yeah Freddy is still in action! Sometimes we hear his pan all the way in the bleachers! We've sat in the tiers a couple times this season and we see him around!
Yeah roll call is my favorite! Even if I'm sitting elsewhere in the stadium I still have to chant it!
Ugh frustrating loss tonight...Moose pitched an awesome game and defense just killed him. Time for Giambi to shave the stache, no?
We'll be there tomorrow! I live for Saturdays!!

How did that ump call Cabrera safe at homeplate last night? Who could see that in a blink of an eye? It all went downhill when Damon missed that third out.

In the spirit of Freddy, here's a pic of DH tapping Freddy's pan at a game on his birthday years ago (this might have been before we were bleacher ticket holders).
Freddy annoys my DH- he thinks if he's such a huge fan, why doesn't he just SIT there and watch the game and quit walking around the whole time!
Wasn't it the best when he turned up in that MasterCard commercial that showed different stadiums?

Yeah, Vinny's announcement is hysterical. I'll be at the game on June 30...my seats are sec 39, first row, first two seats on the aisle...come say hi if you're there that night!!
BTW, anyone who thinks Freddie is annoying, he is still not nearly as bad as Shea's "Cow-Bell Man" who doesn't even realize that you don't spell Cowbell with a hyphen! LOL

We are in the bleachers on Saturdays...I think the 30th is a Monday right? Are you a full season ticket plan holder? Flex plan? We're about 5 rows up in the middle. Not too far from Matsui guy . Haven't seen him and his Matsui banner in a while....we have a few of the Matsui towels he gives out!
Yesterday's game was hella frustrating. Geise pitched phenomenally - it was defense again, plus offense that brought down another awesome pitching performance. We had tons of Reds fans in attendance- we had fun with them. 
The cowbell man!! How about the guy with the drum at Jacobs Field? (or whatever it's called now) That guy always killed me when we'd watch games vs. the Indians!
The Sec 39 Bleacher Creatures used to do a thing with a cowbell- I miss it! The cowbell guy would play a cool rhythm and the creatures would go "ho!!! ho!!! Ho!!!" Haven't heard that yet this season.

A bunch of my cousins and I split the seats. I used to be a lot more involved but being a musician, it's hard for me to commit to night games so I had to cut down. But I go to a few every year.
