Obgyns
I am not pg, but am looking for an obgyn in my area (North Shore Nassau). I am looking at possibly Women's Contemporary Care Associates in Mineola. Some of the drs. there are Mary Kriner, Elena Kastner and Genevive (sp?) Sicurenza. They are actually a part of Perinatal Associates and Dr. Sicurenza did my amnio when I was pg with my son. I am just worried because there are sooo many drs in this practice and they must be busy with amnios and sonos at Perinatal Assoc. I did like Dr. Sicurenza though.
Another practice is in Garden City, Elena Poloukhine, Sherri Putterman, Susan Scavo, Gary Rosenberg, Jefrey Miller and John Cafaro (another dr. is Angelo something, can't remember).
I prefer to have a woman obgyn so I am looking for practices with women in them which is not exactly easy and these drs. are in my insurance plan.
If I do get pg, I would be considered high risk, so I would want someone who could handle that. I would also prefer they be affiliated with Winthrop or North Shore LIJ (Manhasset).
In Syosset there are Emily Sherman Brooks, Janine Morris Rush and Henry Prince area also a possibilty (but they don't deal with high risk).
There is a practice in Syosset at 99 Cold Spring Road (I don't remember all the dr's names) but there are reasons I cannot go to them which I really don't want to get into (nothing wrong with the drs., just personal reasons).
I know this is long, but I hope someone out there can help me.

I love my practice, they are fantastic, they have a bunch of doctors and I believe 3 of them are women...
Northern OBGYN in New Hyde Park.
The women Dr's are Dr. Chung, Dr. Krim, Dr. Fried... The men are Dr. Bernstein (my fave), Dr. Cooperman, Dr. Harvey...

They are associated with NSH Manhasset.

I use All Island Obgyn on Stewart Ave in Westbury, they are great!! There is also three nurse practioners who are awesome, I love Karen, who you can see for routine check ups, routine prenatal, and various other things. This is their website

My practice is based in Great neck but they have an office in Woodbury ( by Geico). There are 7 docs but only 4 of them deliver and they are only affiliated with North Shore Manhasset.
I loved the practice and I had a great pregnancy with them, no complaints....
The doctors that deliver are:
Dr. David Bergman ( my ob and delivered Jacob)
Dr. Harvey Marchbein( was there for the first part of labor and was my mohel for the bris)
Dr. Melissa Oppenheim (very nice)
Dr. Ira Berliner ( never met him because he was on leave of abscence)
You must see all the docs...

I use Dr. Sicuranza. She is wonderful. She is also a maternal-fetal medicine specialist and only handle high-risk patients. She was so great during my early pregnancy and miscarriage - I don't think I would have recovered as well had she not been my doctor. A friend of mine uses Dr. KAstner and loves her too, but I don't think she does high risk.

I go to Dr. Jennifer Hanauer on Old Country Road in Mineola. She's wonderful, and I know of some other girls that go to her too.

I got to Dr. Hanauer as well in Mineola. She is absolutely terrific. She actually makes going to the doctor not bad. She is thourough, and will answer any questions you have. She is also affiliated with Winthrop. I'd recommend anyone to go to her.

I am a patient of Dr. Kastner's from Women's Contemporary Care. She is not very warm and fuzzy but knows her stuff, which is fine with me.

I love Melissa Oppenheim from the practice mentioned above in great Neck. She was my OB with my son before she swicthed to this practice. I know one of the MD's in that practice specializes in high risk, not sure which one though.

Bergman is HR. He's actually very highly regarded in the field...and he'll let you know that every chance he gets (just a wee bit of a big head  )
Oppenheim is my OB and she delivered both of my sons. She's a doll!!

I go to her husband. He is my Primary Care Physician. I love him He is very nice and spends so much time with you. He does not like to recommend his wife. It was strange when I asked him about her. I tried to go to that practice but for me it was wayyyyy too busy.

David Bergman is my doctor. He handles the high risk pregnancies. I am high risk because of a congential heart defect that I have. He is awesome! Plus, he has a sense of humor. Although, he is not a woman he is excellent! Plus they are all afilliated with NSUH Manhasset and Marchbein is the director od obstentrics there. A friend of mine whose mother is a nurse an Plainview Hospital suggested this practice for her daughter and well as for me.

I got to Dr. Hanauer also. I love her!!!! She is in a practice by herself but shares office space with another doctor.
