Who commutes to nyc?
tomorrow is my first day back to work. I've been off for the past 2 weeks and I have been feeling horrible. I have all day sickness and a 2 hour train ride one way. I'm really nervous. Any tips or suggestions would be great.

I take the train in.. You should get the seaband bracelets.. They help for morning sickness and they make me feel better..

Bring a bottle of water with you & something to munch on (carrots, etc) - especially for when the train gets stuck.
eta. you won't be the first pregnant person that threw up in those bathrooms

Re: Who commutes to nyc?
I do... but I haven't been sick. I would try to take an earlier or later train so its not too crowded. I hate it when it is.

Re: Who commutes to nyc?
The sea bands helped me a little. I tried to sleep for the entire train ride, that helped. I brought ginger ale and saltines too and also made sure I was in a car witht the bathroom.

Re: Who commutes to nyc?
i commute to the city- and i hate it. not because i get sick, but bc i find that i get aggravated very easily....and everything gets on my nerves. trains are always late, crowded, and waiting on the platform is so cold. its been a sore subject lately- especially with the strike......waiting on that line outside of penn killed me!!! i find i have to sit going forward (can't do backwards) or i start to get nauseous..... good luck to you!!! if you see a girl throwing a fit in penn, you'll know its me.....

Re: Who commutes to nyc?
I commute and would get sick all the time when I was taking the train. It was so bad that I just couldn't stand it any longer and started to drive in.
My advice is to take an express train if you can. I seemed to get less sick on the express because there was so much less stoping and going.

Re: Who commutes to nyc?
thanks again. I'm def going to bring a plastic bag just in case. I also thought about the express train. There is only a 6:15am and a 8:06am in the morning that goes directly to Penn. I might have to start getting up super early and taking that. I'm going to leave early and catch the 4:49 direct home today. If you see some small girl throwing up on the train...it's probably ME!
It's so bad..no one knows I'm pregnant at my jobyet and I'm so sick. I throw up in my garbage can earlier. Thank god no one saw me!
