I havent seen any picketers around here. Was he arrested?

It doesn't have to be pickets--the deli's number was posted on here. Yes it is public information but posting it on here was fuel to the fire. Some people even called the place and hung up someone joked that people should call and yell "goose killer" or ask if they ave "goose" on the menu.  Joke or not--some people DID call the place.

I have no idea what you are saying unless you misquoted. Someone above me asked if their were picketers so I wrote "I havent seen picketers". Yesterday someone wrote he was being arrested. I wrote "was he arrested"...I am TOTALLY unsure of who you were talking to when you quoted me...

I quoted you because you said you did not see picketers to answer a question someone asked. I was just pointing out that although people are not standing outside they are still calling. I hope this clears up any confusion you may have had Chat Icon .

I think the question you need to ask is...if he is guilty of this, would you want to do business with them? Only you can answer that. Some people don't care what someone does in his/her off-time from work - as long as the food is good (or cheap), they'll go there. It's a personal choice.

I'm not comfortable with it - and while the charges are pending, would withhold my business. The point is moot for me as I don't work or live in the area. I feel for the employees as they will be the ones to suffer if business falters.

Outside of the geese killed, I think the bug or mold would be enough to stop me.

At least one person on this thread did say that they called and hung up cause they didn't block their number..and I think someone else said that they called but had gotten the wrong number, and then the number was posted on the thread. (I don't remember who was it--I just remember reading that)

I'm not saying that anyone should not decide to withhold their business from this guy....I feel like my point is being missed a little bit. If someone wants to do that, thats fine. But many people on this thread said that they made sure to fwd the info on this to just about everyone they know, in hopes of a boycott and shutting him down. Withholding your business is one thing, but sending out mass emails to anyone who you know to hopefully boycott this, when we don't know the entire story and he is still being investigated....just seemed a little extreme.

Imagine if its investigated and it turns out this entire thing was an utter misunderstanding or something and everyone has done this to this guy? As I said before, if he DID do this intentionally, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law...but the man is still under investigation. Give him a chance to have his side examined before convicting him; before everyone brands him the Goose Killer of Industrial Park and destroy his business. Its not just HIM that is affected....keep in mind there are innocent employees who work there too.

Re: Goose KillerHauppauge Industrial Park - Breaktime Deli

I'm the person who vouched for the OP and for tbrown as the witness to the incident. Whatever the three of us posted was purely for the love of animals and the desire to do something about one person's heinous act. It's up to each individual reader to make his or her own decision about whether or not to react to it. Our desire to boycott the deli, if backed by other posters, is their own decision. You can certainly continue patronizing the deli if you'd like. No one is going to criticize you for it.

I agree to have it investigated but isn't that what he did? Remember tbrown wasn't the initial poster on this - it was a long time poster who was friends with him. He came on to give the full story. It didn't seem like he was looking for an angry mob to me. He was looking for guidance on how to report to. I think it was an angry mob based on the nature of the act - intentionally running down geese.

For me the number doesn't matter. Running down any animal intentionally isn't a person I'd want to do business with. I, for one, am glad it was posted.

They are investigating as the Newsday article pointed out. When the facts come out & the investigation complete, I'd be glad to see the guy vindicated or sentenced as the authorities decide.

ITA

Witness has no intention to harm anyone. Just wants justice for the travesty that he/she witnessed. Who wouldn't want that? When you KNOW you saw something of such injustice, you would be adamant too.

You will only see dead ones there b/c they are dead and couldn't m ove.
THe injured geeses will try to move along. So there could have been plenty of injured geese who stumbled away. That's pretty obvious so keep that in mind before you think the story is exaggerated. Animals will move along with their pack if they are not bleeding to death on the ground with no chance of hope.

I believe the witness 1 billion percent, just do in my gut.

Well the witness in this case did in fact contact the appropriate authorities and that is great. BUT once it was posted on HERE---it became "lets try and destroy this man's business!!!!" That is what I am in disagreement with, and its not necessarily about tbrown, but everyone in general. I only pointed out tbrown's statements because the drug speculation really bothered me, and made me feel like there might be a history or something between him and this deli owner.

As well, he did say that he wanted to make sure that EVERYONE stopped going to this man's shop and many people on here agreed and were going crazy forwarding this thread and the News 12 sound off board info to anyone and everyone agreeing how we should practically shut this man down!

He SHOULD absolutely be shut down...and locked up in my opinion. Let people know the trash that this guy actually is. I could care less. Anyone who intentionally hurts or kills any animal deserves to get all the bad press that this guy is getting. I am very happy that this was posted and that there was such an overwhelming response to it. I am happy that the media was contacted about it. It is time to stop ignoring things like this and start taking action.

Chat Icon And stop worrying about protecting the rights of these poor innocent criminals.
If he purposely ran down a few kids in the street- would we be so quick to want to save his poor business???

ITA. It's always about equal rights and a fair trial...so half the time the criminals walk away due to lack of evidence etc, when in fact they were guilty. I am so tired of the criminals deserving fairness, etc...so tired of it.

I really agree with you...

Well everyone can have their opinions and feel strongly about the topic--as you certainly do--but this is kind of what I'm talking about. The guy has been convicted by everyone before knowing his side of the story or even just slightly considering it could have been an accident. (Yes I know that tbrown said he doesn't think it was one--but again no one here can say that it isn't at least a POSSIBILITY)

And trust me, I'm not a softie on criminals AT ALL--if you did the crime you should be completely punished. But sometimes mistakes CAN happen which is why I just felt that it should have been investigated first before everyone went nuts on the guy and wanted to wreck his business. And I know people are saying "he's a criminal--forget his business" - but if this is a mistake, what an impact it could have.

You didn't say exaggerated. I was responding to where you did say that you only saw two and the story had changed. I was just stating that just b/c you only saw two, doesn't mean the witness' story is not 100% accurate (inaccuracy coming from possibly lying, exaggeration, interpretation, etc). That's all.

Most times when stories change, it's due to exaggeration or word of mouth twisting a story. That's why I said exaggeration, not b/c you said that word, but b/c it is what happens in telling stories quite often.

You did question the validity of what you were hearing (which is understandabl;e) since you beleived the story changed, and then you only saw the two dead. But JMO I am sharing, I don't think only seeing 2 dead geese means many more didn't get injured and stumble away to die elsewhere, that was my point.

I personally would hate for the witness to be doubted b/c some injured geese stumbled away, that's all. And to me, 2 dead geese is more than enough killed. JMO

i see, if you read my post from the other day-another poster posted what i texted her and I said it was hard to tell whether it was an accident or intentional-never said they were lying-justs saying that it was hard to tell from where they were laying in the parking lot.

Hence why we should all wait until we know the real story to get twisted about it-being that the story DID change obviously our facts at the start of this werent correct. Intentional, nor intentional whatever it is-before we start shutting down someones business we should know the FACTS not what is exaggerated in a story

Now I don't know the area, but if it's truly a "parking lot" how could one unintentionally KILL two geese? I mean, crush them to death? How fast does one drive in a parking lot? And in order for a goose to be so severely crushed (if one looks at the pics), one would have had to intentionally been driving at a fast rate of speed without swerving.

And you just said, in your last line, "exaggerated in a story"...so do you think it's exaggerated or not?Chat Icon

And I don't recall the story changing, ever. I have been on this thread since page one. What were the changes to the story? I have never picked up an inconsistency EVER, since reading this.

Let's just leave it. I will most certainly come on here and update everyone since I am part of the investigation. I have been contacted numerous times by PETA and other associations and I'm witholding all information to them and everyone else till the investigation is complete.

Thanks again for the support, and let me reassure you, there is no doubt in my mind that it was intentional. I witnessed this from the moment of acceleration to after the impact and it was completely, most certainly, 100% without a doubt in a sane persons mind deliberate.

I have to ask again, in case you missed, your last line here you just said "exaggerated" in a story. Not picking on you, just want to know, so do you think the story has been s "exaggerated" or not?

You just commented to me above that you didn't say exaggerated, but now you are using that very same word. Chat Icon So I am confused, what do you think "changed" in the story and do you think the story is "exaggerated" b/c you "only" saw 2 dead geese (not a bunch, which again, could have stumbled away)?

I said exaggerated in a story b/c you posted that things get exaggerated when telling a story.

It is truly a parking lot, front lot follows the street its on and wraps around the building to the back area-its like ahllways between the buildings. I dont know how fast/slow people drive thru parking lots-most dont go very slow from what i have witnessed, but I know I have turned into my parking lot and the geese are just laying in the entrance of my lot-I have never hit one, but I have come pretty close. Where they were, YES it could have been an accident if cars were parked in the back, or along the building like they were when I pulled in there. The parking lot is very tight in most places-me I drove slowly thru there.

And in the OP, it said something to the affect of a family of geese was run down and killed by......etc. I dont remember it exactly, and I have been on this thread since it started too
