2 questions about being PG...

Is hot water in the shower harmful if you are PG?

And also is it bad to have too much calcium when you are PG?

I am not PG yet but just preparing

Can't answer the calcium question but the way I'm always popping Tums I'm sure I've hit my calcium limit and beyond.

I know PG women are not supposed to go in hot tubs because the water temperature is too high so I guess it depends on how hot your showers are. I'd stay on the warm/slightly hot side rather than take really hot showers if you are concerned.

I am with MM on the Tums popping so I also am not sure about the calcium question.

The biggest thing with hot water (like hot baths and hot tubs) is that it raises your body temperature too much. I would think a hot shower would do the same. I would stay on the luke warm side.

Re: 2 questions about being PG...

You shoudd have AT LEAST 1200 mg of calcium per day when pregnant and breasfeeding. Going over that # is not harmful, but like everything else, moderation is key.

Re: 2 questions about being PG...

I was told no hot tubs since you are immersed up to your shoulders/neck and the temp is wayyyyy too hot. But, a nice warm bath and showers are fine
