Who on here is a teacher?
I am & we'll be TTC (#2) shortly.tossed between starting in July (& if it works right away having an April baby) or waiting until Aug (which would definitely work out better) being that I'm at a "new" job & don't have major days banked & w/ our house, home improvements, we really need my salary.
What are you girls doing?

Re: Who on here is a teacher?
Me!! My hope is that we start in October/November and get lucky to have a baby in July or August. I feel awful leaving during the school year- I'm non tenured and since I'm the music teacher, concerts are a BIG deal and I have so much stuff planned for May/June.

Re: Who on here is a teacher?
I am! I plan on starting to try in July for an April baby, in the middle of the summer for a May baby and in August for a June baby. I'm hoping against hope that it doesn't go beyond that! I am starting a new position next year as well, in the same building but a different job. I feel as if, I'm at that point in my life where I have to put my family first even though this isn't GREAT timing.

Re: Who on here is a teacher?
I am an Asst. Principal to be honest, lots of girls in my school had babies in April - June and they honestly regret it They didnt use too many days, but they had no summer either
they said they would have preferred having the baby in Feb or March - taking 2 months or so off and then also having the summer
Im due in January so it doesnt matter LOL

My first baby was born in July (at my old job I had banked days so I took the entire month of June off) & then had the rest of the summer w/ DD. It was hard going back in Sept (but she was just about 8 wks).

I am! I'm going off the pill in August. I'm hoping to have a summer baby (I'm shooting for anytime between June and September) and take the whole school year off.

i tried to have an april-july baby and i succeeded. i never would have wanted anything earlier at this point. i get to have the entire summer with the baby and then my 3 months of maternity leave (plus i'm taking 2 extra months)
it just goes to show that everyone is different

Re: Who on here is a teacher?
I work in a school and I tried to plan things perfectly for summer vacation but it didn't work out. At this point I will take a BFP any way and any time I can get it.

Re: Who on here is a teacher?
I am a teacher and we planned and got a late march baby. It worked out perfect and the baby will be 5 months when I go back. Next time we may try for a february baby so I can have a little more off when trying to get used to 2 kids!

Re: Who on here is a teacher?
I'm a teacher, due in December
I think it'll actually work out really well, because by the time I go back to teaching, the baby will be 8 months old.

Re: Who on here is a teacher?
I'm a teacher -
I'm due in January, and I'll take the rest of the year off and return in September. The plus side to that is my baby will be 8-9 months old when I return to work; the minus is that I will miss out on that chunk of a summer paycheck. I'm slightly nervous a/b that, but as dh says, "we'll make it work."
My advice? Don't wait until a certain month to start trying. You might not get the results you want as soon as you expected to. Be openminded and flexible.

ugh I wish I could be open-minded! I want to avoid having a baby in May sooo badly!! I at least need that month! I really really want to try for a July baby and I know I'm making it harder on myself by waiting til October and praying that it happens the first time out.
