NYC Bar Reccommendations

I'm looking to have a "summer bar party" and I want to go somewhere that is kinda laid back, not too too crowded but has a nice crowd. Also near some other good bars in case I get bored. If it has a makeshift dance floor thats cool. I would prefer that theres no cover charge.

I usually head around the west 4th area but im looking from anywhere in the village to midtown and maybe the upper east side.

No dance floor and they only let a certain number of people in at one time...... Death and co. Don't remember off hand where it is. If there is too many people inside they will take your cell number and call you when space opens. A few doors down is a real dive bar called the cherry tavern. Real dive but fun crowd. For food and environment, Yaffa cafe on st. Marks place.

maybe the east side- sutton place has a roof deck

and there are about 15 bars with in walking distance

I haven't been there in YEARS

but we always had a great time

(2nd ave and the 50's)
