Do you like this name for a girl?
DH and I really like Emily Rose if we have another girl (we already have Sarah Anne) but there something about it that's holding me back. Was wondering if anyone else thought it wasn't a good name for any particular reason.

Its pretty ...didnt a movie just come out with that name??? The exorcisim of Emily Rose?? Im horrible with things like that i associate names with everything!!!

That's what the problem is, that super scary movie. But I've liked the name for YEARS. My mom thinks I'm insane to not use the name over a movie, but she doesn't remember the trailers. I don't want her tortured over her name, you know?

yes i think that is the name of the girl, unfortunately because its such a pretty name! i work with a girl whose daughter is emily rose and when the movie came out she was freaked out by it.

lol well If you like it go for it!!! look at it this way she is not born yet so by the time she is old enough to go to school and have kids make fun of her they wont even know what the movie is!!! lol I think its pretty very classic!!

i loved that names for years, and we still consider it (though we're nowhere near TTC yet).
the first thing i think of, though, hen i hear that name isn't the movie, but the essay by Faulkner, "a Rose for Emily". (maybe b/c i've never seen the movie?)
But, i think it's a beautiful name, and if it's the one you love (AND you both actually agree on it)- then i wouldnt hold yourself back b/c of a movie
