Need Paint color suggestions
We are painting the outside of our house, and I need some paint color suggestions. Our roof is a reddish color, but I hate it, and hope to one day change it to charcoal gray. Right now our house is a tan/orange color and I HATE it! I was thinking of a taupe/gray color. Any suggestions are welcome.

i love white with black roof and shingles and a red door. however, i do think it would blend well with your roof. i would think tan is a safe choice but hard to imagine the roof color. do you have a pic?

I LOVE my blue. i have cedar shakes (SP?) on the front of my house. It's a navy blue with red shutters and white trim. I get so many compliments on it. I coordinate my flowers in the front to match also.
let me try posting a pic (last fall, unfortunately).
forget the picture! it's too big and i don't know how to re-size it correctly using this sites image resizer!

You probably won't want to hear this but anything you put on your house other than something with a red undertone will only exaggerate the red roof. If you hate it as much as I think you do, you would be well to balance it off with a warm red-brown of at least a medium value. I am very familiar with the color of your roof since I am a professional color specifier who specializes in helping regular folks create appropriate and distinctive color for their homes.
I'd suggest a reddish brown, something much more toned down than what you have now. Ben Moore's Historic collection contains a few of these such colors which would help your roof look less obvious.Try HC-65, Hadley Red. any sort of gray you juxtapose with the red roof will attain the compliment of red, the gray will look green and you will have a Christmas Tree house! Treat the trim the same color as the body of the house and concentrate on the entryway with some distinctive color for a grand focal point.
