Hampton Bays people
Our little family is going to Hampton Bays for a few days in mid August.
Do you have any recommendations on places to see, places to eat, cute stores, etc...
FYI... we have a 1 year old so we can't take him to fancy restaurants.

Re: Hampton Bays people
I was just in Hampton Bays this past weekend for a bachelorette party. One night we went to dinner at Matsulin which is a local asian/sushi place. The food was delicious and the manager was so nice!
Have fun!

Re: Hampton Bays people
my friends just went to Top of the Wharf which is on Dune road by the inlet. They said it was delicious. Cute stores... well I can't really say that HB has any really cute stores. Maybe go about 10 minutes East and go to Main St in Southampton. Much more cute storeish. That or Sag Harbor, still pretty close to HB. That is much more walk around friendly

Re: Hampton Bays people
If you want to eat on the water.. Tiderunners, also Oaklands and a little more casual is Sunwaters.. they have a good lobster dinner! If you're heading to the Ocean beaches stop at Green Door General store on the way (a tiny little store) for beach food. Southampton isn't far.. walking around the village is nice.
Was there anything in particular you were looking for (I live in Southampton)

Re: Hampton Bays people
I don't really remember too many cute stores, but i agree about taking a drive into Southhampton to walk around- lots of cute little stores there. If you go there, i would def suggest Buckley's for lunch or dinner (or just drinks )
In HB- on Ponquogue, right off of the main street is a pizzeria, Francescas- they also have a small dining room area in the back. Tons of different pizzas and all SOOO good (especially the chicken marsala pizza!)- i worked there for a summer and it was the most delicious job!
Also, if you go further down Ponquogue right before the bridge (right by Beach bar) there was a little seafood shack. outdoors, on the water.. just a little hole in the wall place, but i loved it! (i lived there the summer right after i graduated college, so we were all about cheap little places)
But, definitely take a drive into Southhampton- hampton bays has cute aspects, but southhampton really offers that "hamptons feel"...the main street with the cute little mom & pop shops... it's so worth the 10-15 mins drive (its a beautiful drive, too).

Re: Hampton Bays people
Yes, my Qs included surrounding areas and what to do.
We plan on going to South Hampton, etc...
So any recommendations in the neighboring towns are good too.

It isn't Buckley's now Someone else bought it, but I've heard it's still good. (The one in Southampton , it's still Buckley's in Hampton Bays)
75 Main is nice in Southampton also, you can get tables outside and people watch
Publick House - good food.. REALLY good beer!
Def suggest heading out to Sag Harbor too!

Re: Hampton Bays people
The Buckley's that was in Southampton is now owned by the people who own Birchwood in Riverhead...
Will you be there during the week? If so, the park in Southampton has a free concert at night I think on Weds Nights...
I would check out Oaklands, or drive to Sag Harbor for all its cute shops...I HIGHLY recommend Big Olaf Ice Cream--its right on the wharf--u cannot miss it b/c the smell of the waffle cone maker leads you there!
have fun!
