Family Vaction - lookin for lodging
dh and i are looking to go away with our ds and parents. we would like to go to either san francisco or vancouver. we want to stay in a place with a bedroom but have a door to the living room so we all can stay in 1 room. i don't know what you would call those. is there any website where i can find these particular rooms?

Ask for adjoining rooms. Or rent a timeshare unit. You can get a 2 bedroom or a 2 bedroom with lockout and most have a kitchen, balcony, washer/dryer, etc.

there are quite a few on here

My family has used it a few times -they found a really cute beach house in S.C. on there and we went 2 summers in a row.

you can ask for an adjoining/connecting rooms OR look at a place that offers a family suite like Embassy Suites or Residence Inn
