Charting question

Can I join everyone over here?

I was hoping someone can help. How do you chart when you wake 1 or more times a night? Is this possible?

Re: Charting question

How often do you wake?

What is your normal waking time? What times do you usually wake during the night?

Re: Charting question

the rule that i've read to follow is that you need at least 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep for an accurate reading.

It depends on my DC. Some nights it can be 1-2 times, others, not at all. I'm never awake for more than a few minutes most nights. My DC will wake around 1 or 2 am, than again anytime between 5 am and 7 am. This changes nightly. When DC sleeps thru the night I will wake anywhere from 5 am to 7 am. We are trying to cut out the night time waking but the night terrors and teething seem to be the issue.

Am I doomed to not be able to chart?

I think you should be fine!

Just decide on a temping time that is your usual waking time.

For me, I temp at 5:45 since that is my normal waking time for work. I set my alarm for that time (yes, even on weekends) and temp. If it is a weekend, I will temp at that time and then go back to sleep.

As long as you are sleeping for 3 hours consecutively, you should be good.

I sometimes wake up at 1:30 or so, but I am still fine because I still have more than 3 hours to sleep.

Sometimes I wake up at 4:45 though. If I think I won't fall back asleep, I temp and write it down. Then if I DO go back to sleep, I temp again at 5:45 and use that temp. If I don't go back to sleep, I use the 4:45 temp with the temp adjuster on Fertility Friend (fertilityfriend.com).

I think it will work for you! Good luck Chat Icon
