Ear Tubes...

So, DS is going to get tubes done next wednesday. I am a bit nervous. I do know all my friends children have them with no problems. Has anyone here had this done?

Since then has there been any issues with them? How long were they in for?

both me & DH had tubes in our ears when we were little. i probably had them in for a couple of years i want to say... they doc made me special ear plugs that formed to my ears... i had to wear them in the shower & in the pool (along with a swimming cap in the pool)

i'd say that was the most annoying thing for me was the swimming cap. one of them fell out before the doc was ready to remove them so she just let the other one stay in my ear & removed it when the time was ready.

ETA: i had no issues with them at all & i believe that my hearing is so good now b/c of the tubes!!

My nephew had them put in when he was maybe...2 years old.. it took all of 10 mins....it was quick and easy....for the child....of course mommy was a nervous wreck!!

he never had issues... he goes every three months for a check. the dr. waits for the tubes to all out on their own. One has fallen out..it's been about a year.
