Please suggest upstate getaway
I want to go away THIS Thurs and Fri with my family. Inexpensive, less than 4/5 hours away. Someplace relaxing, but also with things to see. Maybe wineries, maybe cooperstown. I've never really stayed up that way. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

A B & B in Warwick.
Warwick is a very cute town with two vineyards, blueberry and strawberry picking, great restaurants, a great little downtown area that has antiques and the NYS ONLY remaining drive in movie theater. Dh and I have stayed here many times & we love it here. It is 15 minutes from where I live now : Glenwood House B & B
ETA: We stayed in the harvest moon suite all three times. SOOOOO worth the $$ and in the summer the pool and jacuzzi are open. The family who runs the place a SUPER nice and their dogs are friendly too.

Re: Please suggest upstate getaway
I would normally suggest Ithaca, but I think this is move in weekend at Cornell, so your chances of staying there are nil. YOu could try Watkins Glen or any of the small towns along Seneca Lake where all the wineries are.
What about Saranac Lake area?

the NYS ONLY remaining drive in movie theater.
There are drive-ins elsewhere in the state.

About 20 miles north of Lake George is Loon Lake in Chestertown, NY. It is beautiful and not so touristy as Lake George.
