What do you think this means? UPDATED
So I interviewed at a firm. The first guy really liked me. The second guy was running very late, but I stayed. First guy kept checking that I would stay. Asked me to send him some writing samples.
Met with second guy. Told me first guy was very impressed with me. Told me they woudl likely be making me an offer. However, they pay less than what I make and expect more work.
Didn't hear anything for 2 weeks.
Two weeks later I get a call from first guy's secretary asking me to come in and meet with first guy when he comes back from vacation (next week).
Should I assume they are making me an offer? I don't want to be cocky, but I can't imagine why else they woudl call me in unless its to meet with someone else.
UPDATE: So I had the meeting last night. They narrowed it down to me and one other candidate. They will pay me around what I make now, but I have to work about 10 more hours a week, and I have to contribute to my benefits and no contribution to my 401-k. So its basically more work for less money and less benefits. While it seems like a much nicer environment than I work at now, I don't think I'll be happy working another 10 hours a week, especially without a big bump in salary.

i would assume they were making me an offer... i would think if they wanted you to meet with someone else, they would have mentioned it the first time.

it doesn't seem worth it to me, I would keep looking. The only time I think a lower salary is ok is when you are completely switching fields and having to start lower to get your foot in the door or if it's something you really love (i.e. wall streeter leaves to be a teacher)
Also, if they're saying 10 hours it could always be more.
Good luck!
