Need advice......Really worried

DH was in the hospital for an appendicitis
He came out on Monday and since then, and since taking the antibiotics, he is acting very strange

He is talking funny; almost a slurred speech
He says his tongue is swollen
needless to say, he has stopped the antibiotics

Anyone ever have this happen?
He is just not acting like himself

No, but it sounds like an allergic reaction to the antibiotics. Call his surgeon if you haven't already and tell them of this and make sure he gets a new antibiotic so he can fight any infection

Re: Need advice......Really worried

thanks
thats what my mom said
He didnt take it since 10 this morning so I'm hoping it just works its way out of his system

I hate seeing him like this; though he has been super happy - LOL

thanks

I called the hospital and spoke to someone in surgery

they said if Im that worried to bring him to the ER; DH won't go and I certainly cannot carry him there

He said he'll wait until Tuesday when he sees the Dr.

Oh my God Laura - i am just reading about this now. I'm so sorry....

Can you maybe get to a pharmacy and ask them what you can do? I find that most pharmacists are VERY well versed in health matters...

Maybe he can be given a benadryl - and that may help alleviate some of the allergy?
