Placed a bid ...is this normal?

DH and I placed a bid on a house on Sunday. The realtor said we would have to get together to sign some papers but we haven't heard back from him since. Is this normal? THought the protocol was to have the real estate agent go back to the seller to which they would either accept or come back with a counteroffer to which we would either accept or counteroffer again.

We havent heard back since Sunday and what is this paperwork he wants us to go over and sign? Is it for our official bid? Why can't he just tell me whether or not the seller accepts or rejects our bid??

So frustrating!

Any help ladies? TIA

You have to sign the sales agreement before the real estate agent faxes over the bid..honestly if your agent has not had you do this yet i would get a new agent most likely the seller has not received your bid yet, and if it is a house you really like you run the risk of losing it. When we placed bids on houses we always signed the sales agreement right away if we werent at the real estate office he would fax it over to me and I would fax it back immediately so he could submit my offer..good luck

It sounds like the agent got a better bid, so he is blowing you guys off. So unprofessional!!!!

You were right! There were 2 people who had bid higher than us...so we spoke it over and gave another bid. Realtor said he would be coming over today so that we could sign the binder?

Let's see how this goes...i'm nervous!!!
