Come in if you've read The Other Boleyn Girl and saw the movie.....

I have to say that I was SOOOOOOOOOO completely disappointed in the movie! I should have expected so. I just read the book last week and was really excited to see the characters in action, because I LOVED the book, couldn't put it down!

What a total disappointment. It wasn't even close to the story, and it seemed so "fragmented" because so much was left out.

I loved the book, but the movie was just ehh...I actually fell asleep in the middle of it.
I didn't like Natalie Portman as Anne at all.

I read the book several years ago and became obsessed with the story... I was anxiously anticipating the movie release, and when I was in London a few years ago-- I went into a BBC store and tried to find the TV movie version that they did (they didn't have it).

The movie was terrible. It did not tell Mary's story at all-- and just told the same old story everyone knew. That was what was so fascinating about the book.

If you loved TOBG, you should read The Last Bolyen by Karen Harper. It's same story, but a little different. Harper's book was actually written in 1980, so Phillipa was not the first to discover Mary.

Yeah the movie did kinda stink.....I watched the featurette on the DVD about turning the book into the movie and that made me hate it less, realize that if it really had everything it would have had to be like 10 hours long....

I didn't read the book, so I liked the movie.

Now I want to read the book.

That's usually the way it goes -- movies never capture what you have imagined in your mind. And there's never enough time to tell the whole book.

I loved the book and thought the movie was okay.

I try not to expect much from movie versions because it's impossible for them to keep all the detail of a book without the movie being 6 hours long...lol...

On a side note, I am now obsessed with Phillipa Greggory and am reading the rest of the books in this "series."

Complete miscast w/Natalie Portman-loved the booked, didn't really enjoy the movie-though I have to say I enjoy looking at Eric Bana.

I would have liked the movie IF i didnt read the book. The similarities between the two were so few i kept wondering why Phillippa Gregory even approved of it.
