Maybe you could apply your skills and degree to something in the human services field. I work with people who have TBI and for one of the positions, the qualifications include a background in education/teaching.
You would be working one-on-one and your schedule is often a great deal more flexible.
I am sure it would probably be a bit of a pay-cut but I can FM you some agencies to check out if you are interested.
As a social worker, I often find myself getting the "grass is greener" syndrome and want to kick myself for listening to my mother (a retired teacher) and not going with my original major, which was teaching. But since I am outside of your field, I am sure I am only seeing the "perks" of being a teacher and not the realities of how difficult it probably can be.
