We are moving forward to IVF
I met with my RE this morning after IUI #2 failed. We had a good heart to heart & he is feeling that the IUI's will not be it for us. DH's sample for this past IUI was better but still not an "optimal" sample. My RE feels that IVF with ICSI is going to be our best bet. Since I am still young, under 30, and have no issues with my cycles, we are very good candidates & he said the chances of it working are a million times more then IUI. Since we are paying out of pocket for all IF coverage, we both feel it is time to be more aggressive & move on.
So DH & I go in for bloodwork on Wednesday morning. Then next Tuesday I have an HSG & then we have our IVF consult on 9/24. I am feeling a little bit of anxiety, depression & also optimistic.
I am scared to death of the injections but I guess I will get over that rather quickly. Never in a million years did I think this is where I would be but I am done wasting time with IUI's since there is a slim chance of it working. So ladies be prepared, I am going to be asking a lot of questions once I start the IVF process

It's VERY overwhelming the thought of IVF and all that comes with it. But if MF is your only issue, and given you are so young, IVF/ICSI will give you the best chance.

Oh Kristen.. I already told you this... but, I'm sorry that it had to come to this.. but, I am also happy because this is your best chance to have a little baby.

It's all so overwhelming at first, but once you get on schedule I think you'll feel much better. I'm here if you have any questions- I hope you have your BFP very soon!!

Similiarly we had the same happen after 4 iui
In my 2 years on this journey, being told that ivf was the better choice I was devasted so i can understand.
i too don't have IVF coverage, so I understand.
You're a Rosenfeld patient right? I was there this morning for IVF monitoring. FM me with any questions

I also might have to do the IVF/ICSI route, so I'm just as anxious as you are (although I'm a bit older-39). My RE said things with me are ok, and this is the best way to go if our only issue is MF.

Kristen...
It is very overwhelming at first, but I found that if I wrote down everything I took in a little planner each day and times and stuff, I felt like I was "in control" and got through it easily...

I agree with all the posts! I am so sorry it has come to this. Feel free to keep in touch with me throughout the process. We used the same group and did IVF/ICSI. You are gonna do great, just keep your head up and tackle each new med one day at a time!

Best of luck with your IVF! I am a recent IVF success story and all I can say is I wish I had done it sooner rather than torturing myself with 5 failed IUI's.

I totally understand how you feel. It is devestating to hear that "IVF" is your best or only chance. I have tubal factor IF so that is basically what I heard.
Once you get over that and get started it really becomes much easier. I am in the middle of my first (hopefully only) IVF cycle and it's been fairly easy so far. Once everthing is decided and you have a plan/calendar in writing it becomes much easier to manage.

Just want to wish you the best of luck. IVF is not as scary once you are in it. It actually goes really fast. It is stressful, so try to do things that make you calm. But, with MF and your nice young age (I can say this being 40) this will be a better shot for you. There is a ton of great info on here already, don't forget to use the search capability.

I am glad you finally made peace with it and are ready to move forward! I have not started yet but I have come to terms with the fact that this is our only option as well.

I was scared to death of the injections too - and they really turned out to be not such a big deal! You will do great! Hopefully it will be a quick trip down the IVF road for you!! Good Luck!!
