Moms of around 2.5 year olds..Naps?

Does your 2.5 year old nap?

Mine is on a napping strike for the last week.

Just wondering if this is the norm for when they don't need a nap anymore?

She sleeps about 11 hours a night.

My 2 older kids lost their naps entirely by 2 1/2 (I hate to say it!) My DS is almost 28 months so he's just about there but is still napping. He takes a 2 hour naps most of the time, sometimes I have to wake him if it's getting too late. But the days he has gone without, he is actually fine. No meltdowns but then that night he sleeps very restlessly and sometimes is awake for a period of time.

ETA: My nephew still took naps last year at 5 years old so some kids nap till they are much older. Just not mine unless my youngest breaks the trend.

My DD is just about 2-1/2 and still naps every afternoon without fail. She can sleep 2 to 3 hours very easily!

My son is 4 and he'll still take a nap every afternoon, most days. He'll say he isn't tired, and then boom, he sits down and he's asleep in 5 minutes

DS still naps. He might skip a day depending on what we are doing but usually if we are home he will nap 2-3 hours, if we are out he'll nap wherever he can, carseat, stroller but never for a long time, maybe an hour

My DD stopped napping shortly after 2.5. I was OK with it though because I knew she was starting school in the afternoons and wouldn't nap anyway.
My DD was only sleeping about 11 hours a night as well but has finally readjusted to 12 hours a night most nights.

So i guess it's going to depend on her.
She never was a big napper at all! Even as an infant she only gave me 2 1 hour naps at most.

Some days she's fine without it, some days she's a monster by 5pm.
And if i put her in the car, she's out cold by the time we are down the driveway.

i don't know what to do

He will still nap about 1.5-2 hours. It depends on the day though and now I put him down when DD is on her second nap. Maybe try switching the time around. I noticed the morning nap wasn't happening anymore. Also he doesn't get one everyday. If we are home I will put him down. Sometimes I put him down and he doesn't sleep but he will sit in crib and just play.

My DS will be 3 in 2 weeks ( ) and he still takes a nap in the afternoon for usually 2-2.5 hrs. If he misses it- forget it- you dont want to be around him !!!

I'm going to try it tomorrow in the afternoon and see how she does.

She's not in a crib anymore, so i can't keep her contained. When she was in the crib, she would just get bored and go to sleep. She was napping so well in her toddler bed up until last week.

Mine went on strike today.. she decided not to take a nap. Its been tricky, she will only nap with me, not my mom or SIL.

I think it might be comming to an end, but that means earlier bed time

Roman will be 3 in January. He sleeps about 10 hours a night and takes one 2 1/2-3 hour nap daily. He can also do a power nap if we are in the car and be okay.

He still takes an afternoon nap for about 2 hours on a good day. There is that day though that he doesnt nap at all.

I can't help - Ali hasn't napped in over a year

I mean she has an occasional nap if we are in the car or if she isn't feeling well, but I would say she never really naps anymore

Ry gave up naps last year.

He will occasionally fall asleep if we are driving around 4 pm, but those are few and far between.

I miss his naps!!

Mine has been all out fighting naps every single day even though she is clearly tired and needs it. Once she gets to napping though, she'll sleep for at least 2 hours. I still force her o nap because if she doesn't, all hell breaks loose in the middle of the night. She'll wake up crying hysterically for at least half an hour. So, yeah, she turns into a monster if she doesn't get her naps.

Ellie still naps every day no matter where we are. If we're home she sleeps 2-3 hours and if we're out she naps in the stroller or car for shorter. No sign of giving them up thank goodness-mommy likes a break!

2.5 years here and still naps between 1.5 and 2 hours a day. I am dreading the day she stops taking one! She sleeps an average of 10-11 hours/night.
