NYC Marathoners...what are you planning to wear?

I had this issue in '06 and it ended up in the 40's. I wore shorts and a shorts sleave technical shirt. I was fine except towards the end felt a little chilly, but I would wear the same thing if the weather was the same.

This year I will be wearing a running hat, I love them now. I also just bought a new shorts sleeve shirt to break in, and a new long sleeve shirt....I find it hard to get my size so when I do I jump on it. I plan on bringing both and determining the week of. As for bottoms I plan to wear shorts unless there is some crazy arctic chill, so I will prolly bring my tights capris...I have to be prepared for anything since I will be in NYC the entire week before for work and then staying through the weekend for the race.

Also, have to start getting your throw away clothes. I hit WalMart and got the cheapest sweats and a scarf.

Can you tell I'm getting excited.

One more thing, have you guys started breaking in a fresh pair of sneakers? If you plan to... this is the time do so.

Not running the marathon (maybe someday...) but I was wondering what exactly are throw away clothes?

I'm assuming they are layering pieces you can remove throughout the race?

im getting so excited too!!!

throw away clothes = marathoners have to be at the start at 7am ish - and the race doesnt start until 10am. likely wont cross start line until 1030. these clothes are for you to wear to keep warm and then throw away after you start running. they get donated to charity by race officials after they are all picked up.

I will probably wear tights/capris as thats what ive been training and most comfortable in. i love sleeveless tech shirts, but i want to wear the same shirt as my sister adn dad and friend since we're all running together. i'll prob go shopping soon. need a good fun bright color!

def a visor, as im obsessed with mine.

havent bouth TA clothes yet, but will hit walmart or modells myself. YAY!!!!!

i got my packet and i keep reading the pamphlet - SO EXCITED!!
