Newly Preggos???

I have to wait 3 weeks to see my doctor...how many pregnancy tests did you take 'just to make sure' of your BFP? I got mine this morning but I want to test with a digital after work for more reassurance.

Any advice on food, activities, etc. until I meet with my doctor?

Thanks Ladies Chat Icon

Re: Newly Preggos???

First off... Congrats!! I'm going to be 8 weeks prego tomorrow and have my 2nd appt with the doc.
Usually they won't see you till your 8 weeks, but I wound up seeing him at 6 and he wanted me to come in for my 8 week appt. Then after that we'll do every 4 weeks.

I did the test twice. First the + sign the morning AF was due then when I got home from work with the digital.
You can search food online what you should be eating... lots of fruits, veggies, protien, etc... and no fish, raw eggs, alcohol, etc. You pretty much will figure it out. Make sure any drinks are pasturized. My mom got fresh squeezed OJ and I couldn't have any... (we still haven't told anyone)
That's pretty much it. If you work out you still can, but no abs and just do it moderatly.
Hope that helps

Re: Newly Preggos???

I have taken several tests b/c it just doesn't seem real yet. I got my BFP last tuesday. I don't see my OB until the 21st - which seems so late with DD I saw my OB at 5 weeks.

Are you taking prenatals - you might want to start if you aren't you can either take over the counter until you see your OB or you can call the office and ask for a script.

If you are ultra conservative I'm sure people on here have a current list of what foods their drs said in moderation or to avoid - then when you see your dr you can modify the list to their recommendations. The common list is no raw foods (like sushi, or raw meats), cold cuts (depending on the dr), limit caffeine, fish high in mercury etc are some of the main ones.

If you have meds that you take you might want to check if they are okay - otherwise if you don't take anything regularly - you will want to avoid things like aspirin, advil etc.

Congrats!!!! When are you due?Chat Icon Chat Icon

Hi Girls,

I just got my bfp last week as well. I am coming from the Infertility board and am so paranoid.

I took two pregnancy tests last week to confirm it...

Are you guys feeling any symptoms...??I only have slight cramping..that's it!

Re: Newly Preggos???

I still have a while before I see my OB as well and I've taken about 5 tests in the meantime because I don't believe it either! Chat Icon

This pregnancy is starting off much different than with #1 which makes me go "am I really pregnant!!?"

I really don't have many symptons yet. My back's been killing me and I have no appetite, which is weird for me because with #1 I was famished 24-7.

Congrats! There seems to be quite a few of us newly preggos! Chat Icon

Nope not me. I am obsessive. My Dr makes fun of me. She knows I spent like $200 on testsChat Icon

Oh and I did the same this time, and a blood test is what gave me my BFP.

Re: Newly Preggos???

I have POAS so many times b/c it just doesn't feel real!!! I have had a tiny bit of cramping but otherwise - last night I had a bit of heartburn - but none since - with DD I got indigestion, heartburn and nausea at 4.5-5 weeks - so I'm praying not to get it bad this time. Otherwise I feel great so far! I can't wait until the 21st to get an idea of EDD. If you go by my LMP my EDD is June 4th - but if you go by when I think I O'd it is June 11th (I think) - so it looks like I will have 2 under 2 for 1-3 weeks!
