Does everyone cry...
when they put the baby's "Newborn" clothes into a bin? I am a mess.
The combo between that and starting BCP today makes me so sad. DH already thinks he doesn't want anymore. I don't think I can bear the thought of that even though I am so happy right now and not even thinking about a #2, I can't imagine this being my only experience as a mom.

Re: Does everyone cry...
I can tell you that when we first had our DD 10 months ago the thought of having another one would scare me. Both DH and I were sure that was it for us.
well.. 10 months later my DH just brought up that it may be time for another one. Of course its not, but, both him and I do now know we do want more.
My point is, we need to time to adjust. I'm sure your hubby will too. Enjoy your baby now!

Re: Does everyone cry...
Yess - it's so sad to pack away those teeny tiny clothes! You're not the only one!
Also - my husband said in the beginning that he didn't want any more kids - but we are trying for #2 now....he will come around (hopefully )

My DH said the same thing after #2 and lately he has been telling me how much he loved me being PG. Then the other night he said he can't wait to have another just to go through the newborn phases one last time. Now, if you asked him last year he was done at #1 but we had them 15 months apart.
I also had time putting things away. It was harder the first time then the second. I had a harder time giving DS's clothes to my sil though. I felt like I had to pry myself from it but I realized I had pictures of ihm in the clothes and that was enough memory. I did keep a few things same for DD.

Re: Does everyone cry...
i don't and that is ONLY b/c i have loved how she is growing and becoming a little person! she's almost 16 months. the truth is i hated the NB stage she was colic and i had a little PPD, so this is just me. BUT i swore up and down that DD would be my only child while DH wanted another. once she hit 1 year or so i TOTALLY changed my mind and am now fixated on #2! so your DH may very very well come around!! do enjoy every minute with your sweet DD! it does go fast!!

Re: Does everyone cry...
I cried when he was no longer wearing newborn diapers
My cousin just sent me a HUGE box of clothes. I swear my son has more clothes then me. Though I am sad he's not in his newborn stuff I am really looking forward to when he gets bigger so he can wear all the cool stuff his godmother sent him

Re: Does everyone cry...
Yes - Absolutely!! Im acutally not ready to give them away yet or part with them - i often wonder if we will have one more child (we already have 2 girls) - but I know I can't keep these bins around forever - they take up too much darn room!

Oh yes. I cry everytime I pack away more of Nina's clothing. But, the newborn clothing was the hardest.

Re: Does everyone cry...
I haven't put them away yet because I know it will make me sad!
They are all sorted out and set aside. I just haven't brought myself to "packing" them away.
As far as #2....I'm sure your DH will come around. He's probably just a little overwhelmed. I child changes a life in a way that just can never be imagined.
Ryan is 3 months old and although we are no where near ready, we know we definitely want another.

Re: Does everyone cry...
It helps to have REALLY cute clothes waiting in the next size up. Then you can say, "Oh good, now she can wear this!!!"

Re: Does everyone cry...
Oh yes... for days
I actually got teary yesterday because DS was in his first full 12-18 mos outfit And I feel cheated because he's only 8 mos so I keep saying my next baby will weigh 5lbs at birth and gain 1lb a month max so I can keep them a baby forever

Re: Does everyone cry...
i didn't cry but i got very sad!
DS was born right at the change of seasons. so even though he's still fitting in 0-3 month clothes, they're all summer things so i packed them away. i have a box of newborn and a box of 0-3. i still haven't put them in the attic because i look through them

Re: Does everyone cry...
I cried when I packed away one particular set of pj's. They said "i love mommy" and he looked so darn cute in them...
It actually took him not being able to move his legs correctly in them before I said "ok these are too small", lol!!!
As he got older it get less sad...but on man, packing away those newborn outifts killed me!!

Re: Does everyone cry...
Glad I am not alone with this and glad to hear it gets easier. She does have a ton of cute 0-3 clothes to wear now though. I'll focus on that.
