just need to vent (long)..
so I just had my second interview since quitting my last job in June. I quit because the hours were unbearable for me. I was litterally getting home from work at 9pm every night for months, getting up at 6 & repeating the same long day. I'd cry for no reason at all. I was totally drained at home I even forgot to turn the oven off once & it was on all night! That was my wakeup call & I decided to quit. I wanted an administrative job (which is a career change for me) hopefully close to home but I was fine with going into the city. I was getting no response for that type of job so I decided to apply for jobs back in my field. Well, on today's interview, I was told that I'd sometimes have to work until 8-9pm & the girl who was promoted from my position sometimes works until midnight 
uughhh.. I just want an admin job, with normal coworkers, & normal hours.. please

 I know how you feel - I once had the type of job you are describing - It was horrible. Have you tried a temp agency? Sometimes thats the best way to find an admin job...

I was in the apparel industry in retail buying & have always worked in the city. I live in Queens on the border of Nassau so I would be able to commute by car if needed. I do not have a preference what type of company I worked for if I got an admin job.

I have worked in the fashion indusrty in a buying office and want a regular admin job because I am no longer interested in a future career as a buyer... it requires much more dedication than I am willing to give.

LI/queens border would be great but the city is fine too. I have been using Indeed.com but haven't been on it at all this week.

How about thinking about other positions you woukd be eligible for. Have you considered working in textiles, import/export, merchandising?

What if you get an admin job in the apparel industry?
I work for the retail industry now, and the admins love it!
