Exercising and Pregnant??

I need some idea and what not and what I can do!! My appointment with my Dr isn't until the 29th and I'm still going to the gym 3 times a week. But doing light weights and walking.

I would continue doing what you are doing.

I know when I was preggo with DD, they told me I can do exactly what I was doing before.

Unfortunately, I couldn't do even that, is was because I had some complications in the beginning and exercise was not recommended.

From what I've read, most important is not working out your abdomen. I am doing mostly cardio and cut down on my weights because I don't want to work my stomach muscles that much.

continue what you are doing - except no abs.

with my first I ran up until 5 months (well, slow jog) - still gained 66 pounds (40 of them by 6 months)!

with my second I was constantly sick, so I didn't do much...only gained 56 Chat Icon

This is exactly what I am still doing now. I walk in the park or on treadmill, and do light weights at the gym!

You can usually continue doing anything you were doing pre-pregnancy. With regards to cardio (running, etc), my doctor recommends keeping my heart rate under 140 bpm. I've been running and doing pilates and yoga since before getting pregnant and have continued all of the above, with some adjustments, to this point at 12 weeks. I'll continue to modify as necessary as my pregnancy continues.

If you were doing ab work before getting pregnant, you can continue as long as your doctor says it's okay. Pilates is all ab work and my doctor said it's fine since I was doing it before. Each doctor is different though.

I was too tired to continue what I did pre-pregnancy. I just did a lot of walking and prenatal yoga 1x a week.
