In a bit of a job dilemma
So last week, I went on interviews for two jobs, one in the city, and one in Lynbrook. The work is similar, but the city job does computer stuff that is mostly new to me, whereas Lynbrook is more familiar. The pay and benefits are about equal, but the main difference is company size. The city company is unsurprisingly quite big with several hundred employees, whereas Lynbrook has seven employees.
It's tough to decide on which to go with as a bigger company has good potential career growth, but a small company that's just taking off also has potential.
This decision has to be made by 1pm Thursday, so it doesn't give me much time to dwell on the offers . Right now I'm writing a list of pros and cons for each, and hopefully that will shed some light. It's great to be in this position, but it also sucks!

Re: In a bit of a job dilemma
what feels right? Go with your gut.
Sounds like you like both.
Keep in mind smaller companies (very small) have some pitfalls as well as large companies.
I have found that I personally like working for larger companies. I like the diversity of a large staff and some large firms offer benefits that smaller ones cannot.
I always found that smaller companies have cliques and politics that I didn't like especially if they are family owned.
You ultimately have to work where you are comfortable. Where can you see yourself going everyday? When you get up in the am which one makes you feel happier?

If the pay and benefits are equal then the Lynbrook job. Just think of all the time you will save on commuting.

I 100% agree with the above....I've worked for 2 small companies and 2 large companies. Was miserable both times at the small companies. Trust your gut.

I agree - DEFINATELY trust your gut. I learned that the hard way.
