AM runners
what time in the morning do you run? I usually run when i get home from work around 5:15, but now that it's dark out when I get home, I was thinking I should run the morning. I would have to run around 5:45 AM. Not sure what time is safer to run, before or after work. I would be running around my neighborhood, no main roads.

Actually, tomorrow will hopefully be my first a.m. run. I'm thinking it would be safer. I mean, how many thugs are up at 5 am?  There are fewer cars, too.

it's tough - I think there are more people and cars out in the PM. The am can can eerily quiet. Try it for a day and feel it out.

I usually go between 6-630 and love it! I love how peaceful it is and love love love being done for the day. When I don't work out in the morning I actually feel crappy throughout the day now.
With that said, I run on busier roads until it gets a little brighter out, I run with a bud light (flashing light on my shorts) and joggers fogn(mace), which just makes me feel safer and that I can defend myself if ever needed. I do see other runners out there..especially close to the park.

I decided to run as soon as I got home from work just for a 1/2 hr. Who am I kidding. There was no way I was getting up @ 5:45 and I even slept in my running clothes. Oh well!!

I actually found AM running more scary to me. There would be like no cars on the road and no one out and about. I sometimes go as late at 9PM running after the kiddies are in bed and I have no issues with being scared. I run around my neighborhood that has many houses and I find a lot of people out and about. I usually try and run on busy roads too if I am out late. Just makes me feel better that there are others around.

I too try tostay on the busy roads....I figure that if I was on a road with alot of people that I would be safer
