For those who have had their gallbladders removed..

Can you tell me what the surgery was like?

How long were you in the hospital or were you released right away?

Recovery time?

Time to feel back to normal?

Thank you!

Depends if you have laproscopic or regular.

Lapriscopic I was out the next day. My mom needed to have the regular with the huge incision and she was in for either 2 or 3 days.

My only tidbit of info is to ask the nurses for extra pillows - and put them under your knees. Elevating them helps ease the incision.

I had my gallbladder removed while I was pregnant ... it was a piece of cake. Word,of advice .. I've heard that people have terrible gas pains after surgery, but I did A LOT of walking the whole night after my surgery, and did great.

It took 40 minutes from start to finish Laproscopically.

How long were you in the hospital or were you released right away?

Surgery at 4 pm, released the next day at 7 am. If I would have had a 7 am surgery, I probably would have been released that day.

Recovery time?
felt like c section pain right after, but within 3 days I was feeling just slightly sore.

Time to feel back to normal?
1 week to really feel normal.

It was a pretty easy surgery, mine was done laparascopically.

How long were you in the hospital or were you released right away?

I was released that evening. I was encouraged to stay until the next day but I really wanted to go home.

Recovery time?

I was up and moving around comfortably in a few days.

Time to feel back to normal?

I was back to normal in about two weeks although I did go back to work sooner than that. I think I was the minority though...I've heard it can be quicker.

Good luck!! Chat Icon Chat Icon
