Anyone using Elecare formula?
My 4 week old has been on 3 different formulas..appears to have a milk allergy after having blood in his stool. Ped put him on Elecare now and he hates it...spitting up, hardly eating, still crying a lot...seems like this is worse for him but it's only been a couple of days. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm at my wits end with no sleep.......feel so bad for him.

Re: Anyone using Elecare formula?
Elecare and Neocate are the 2 amino acid based formulas. All the other formulas that I am aware of have some amount of milk protein in them. We tried several before Elecare. Soy based formulas can cause a reaction in many babies who have severe milk protein allergies.
My DS had a milk protein allergy and severe reflux. It took a combination of Elecare, Mylanta and Axid and then some tinkering with the dose of the meds. He always spit up more than a normal baby. At one point, he was holding very little down and he was evaluated for pyloric stenosis. He did not have that but it is something they look for. Has anyone mentioned that to you?
Good luck and I hope that your baby settles in with something that works. I know what worked for us and it is all individual but I tried to read a lot about these types of problems, so FM me if you have questions.
